Actually, How Do I Live is now Billboard's #1 1990s song. BB changed its GOAT Songs methodology, moving HDIL into the T10 well ahead of One Sweet Day. So OSD is no longer #1 for the 1990s. We Belong Together is still #1 for the 2000s though.

 

And for the Lambs, I've been a Mariah fan since she released Vision of Love, so from the very beginning & before many on this forum were even born. So don't consider me being happy Lee is #1 is me "hating" on Mariah.

I agree. I know there’s all kind of manipulation in the chart but if it’s that simple to game who’s the Holiday chart-topper then it just makes it that more irrelevant to showcase it on the main chart.

People underestimated Brenda at their peril. This year she promoted for the first time ever. She was always going to be a huge threat once she did something for the song seeing as she got so close every year without lifting a finger. Also Mariah got two greedy - her trying to trademark Queen of Christmas was a bad move.

Except Passive consumption has been responsible for ALL christmas music resurging. Suddenly its only a problem now when Mariah has been bested by another artist. When she was getting all the support, it was a non issue. Hypocrisy at it's finest.

Very true. Seeing as Brenda was THE main girl in the 60's. She was like fourth on the artist list for that decade and top female. The organic resurgence of Rockin Around the Christmas Tree has been amazing to witness. And all it took was a little promo for her to become the dominant factor in the US.

Well, it still stands as their 90s SOTD. How Do I Live is the current largest from the 90s and was named #1 when they did a new series of largest songs including streaming and points from after those decades.
