Klein Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Taylor Swift since 2006: OUT - OUT - 3 - 1 - 2 - OUT - 3 - 1 - 3 - 1 - OUT - 4 - 1 - 2 - 1 - 1 Six times #1, and the seventh is pretty much on lock 7
Strawberry Bubble Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Taylor's domination in the U.S. is quite scary
HappierJealousy Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 What’s happened with female artists in 2006 and 2017 especially 2017, I can’t believe Ariana took the top spot with those tragic stats And it surprises me that Nelly Furtado never made the top 5 And Xtina has more #1 than Britney
Blade Runner Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Taylor, Gaga and Adele the only new girls to be #1 overall. Whew...
Støned Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 (edited) Ashanti really owned 2002 6 songs in the Year End singles chart. The most of any MPG on this list.. Edited December 1, 2023 by Støned
Peak Now Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 No shade but I am a bit surprised at Taylor for 2018, I'd think it would have been Cardi with ease...

Tours are counted if I'm not mistaken. And the Reputation tour was the most successful ever in the US at the time. 1

Because Billboard year-end charts include the November-December sales so Reputation finished as the #1 album of 2018 thanks to its 2017 sales
satellites.™ Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Beyonce tends to release albums at the middle or end of the year, thats always the thing with charting. Hers is usually cut up way too much! The longevity is so insane, what a legend! 1

If you look at the top 20 singles of the year the only females in the top 20 are Halsey and Alessia Cara as featured acts, the rest are male artists. The highest female song is Bodak Yellow at #24 https://www.billboard.com/charts/year-end/2017/hot-100-songs/
UnusualBoy Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Adele having the #1 song and album in 2011, the only female to do Taylor doing Taylor things Rihanna, Gaga, Katy and Britney snatching 1 or more too 1
robbyds Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Queen Janet! 1986- #4 1987 - #3 1990 - #1 1993 - #1 1994 - #3 1998 - #4 2001 - #2 She would have dominated more even she had released more albums during her peak. 1
robbyds Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Paula was such a force for a good number of years! 1989 - #1 1990 - #2 1991 - #3 1992 - #5

It kind of annoys me that she only made the top 5 during one year of the RN era! I feel like she should've been there in 1989 too with two big singles already (although I suppose "RN" is cutting it close for the 1989 tracking year).

Only MYM was credited on the 1989 hence her absence that year.
Trash Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Pleasantly surprised Britney managed to be in the top 5 for 4 times, she's never been a charts gal.

Now, she's back in the top 5 during the streaming age girls' tenure. We love a cross generational queen.
