It's not just for the week. Artists like Drake, Taylor Swift, BTS, etc now have hundreds of top 100 "hits" - with more than 75% being there for a single week because of album bombs. It makes a mockery of the entire history of these charts. It was bad enough when Glee did this 15 years ago...

Brenda has been closing the gap the past few years on the year end chart . it was quite close in 2023.

But the thing it's not just one week because Drake, Taylor, Bad Bunny release albums every year and some of them release multiple albums a year so between them combined they mess with the chart for more than 2 months combined which it's more than 5 weeks of Christmas music.

 

And there is also Morgan, Zach Bryan, Travis, Olivia so this year alone we had more than 10 album bombs

The narrative of PTTR being a weak, placeholder #1 is BS. It has 3 weeks at #1, and 5 weeks at #2, including the last 3 that were blocked by 3 different songs (Vampire, Slime You Out, and Cruel Summer), losing all of those by only a few points. PTTR was just a few points away from being a 6-week #1.

Speak for yourself ; my extended family had our family Christmas yesterday (opening gifts, dinner, etc.). Conflicting schedules so can’t celebrate in December lol. Do it in November almost every year. Been blasting Christmas music all week.

Brenda is really trying this year if Mariah gets 4 weeks and Brenda 1 week than I am ok with that but other than that I think most xmas songs might get a slight new peak but nothing too special.
