The charts are broken. Time for Billboard to separate Christmas songs back out into their own chart.

If you do that, album bombs also need to be removed, that breaks the charts more than a few weeks of Christmas songs.

Cozy Little Christmas coming for #1

I mean, it deserves, actually let me listen to it

I mean, I can't be mad - that's what people are listening to rn, that's what's popular rn, that's what should be topping Billboard... I just don't understand why people are listening to so much Christmas music already :rip: It's not even December yet. Does starting so early not dilute the Christmas experience for people?

Personally,  I much prefer this over the album bombs.

I wholeheartedly believe Billboard will change the weighting for Christmas songs before the 2025 season begins. It's getting ridiculous at this point.

No one listens to Xmas music this early, it's all because of retail stores

yep, which makes all these Xmas runs INORGANIC.

Year after year, the UK charts prove that they hit the jackpot with the ACR rule.

But it doesn't rly affect Xmas songs as it gets reset when the song increases continuously for a few weeks, right?

Brenda is doing a physical release this Friday and a live autograph session

And an NBC Special on Dec 7 for RATCT

She's coming out of her lair really this year wew!

Does she earn anything from this? She does not have writing credits on the song.

what is the ACR rule?

We can only hope they won’t introduce similar arbitrary nonsense as the UK did with their charting rules. At that point the chart of “most popular song” is worth as much as a random users Last.fm chart

Last Christmas is #14 and All I Want for Christmas is #16 this week. 5 Christmas songs in the top 40 even with ACR so it’s not like they are immune

Not bothered by Christmas songs charting on Billboard when Lover can get #1 songs years later, I hope Brenda gets her much deserved #1 this year.

I hope brenda finally gets her #1

it would be her first #1 hit since 1960, 63+ years ago!

and she would become the oldest artist to reach #1

I'm less bothered about one album messing up the chart for a week than the same songs returning to the top of the chart year after year after year after year. But yes, streaming has ruined everything.

Is it even worth that though? Wouldn’t the non-Christmas #1 have so few points because streams get so diluted with the general population dropping regular music for Xmas carols?  :rip:

Is the general population actually listening to this much Christmas music in November? Or did all the stores just switch over their playlists after Halloween and skew the data? I truly would like to know.
