Taylor actually went on to stay #1 on this week. I don't remember how she made up those extra 20 points... 

 

Brenda lost to Mariah by about 2 points that week, and Mariah beat her by 15+ points every week for the rest of the holiday season.

 

Real points on this current prediction are 25,628 for Mariah, and 25,598 for Brenda, that's a difference of 0.3 points... definitely the closest Brenda has ever been this late in a tracking week.

 

I always wonder what Billboard would do if there's ever an actual tie down to the decimal...

There was a lot of this last year during the close week too. I remember one of those accounts predicting a Brenda win, but I don't remember which one.

 

But it's definitely even closer this year.
