Hector Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Mariah & Brenda season, I know that's right Hopefully Last Christmas gets a new peak this year. 4
IBeMe Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 As annoying as it can be to have the Hot 100 clogged up with christmas songs I do strongly enjoy the fact that we are in fact tracking the most popular music accurately (well as accurately as possible with the messy hot 100 formula obviously) 12 1 2
KatyPrismSpirit Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 brenda lee coming to collect ha things this year around me thinks 3
fridayteenage Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 it'll be interesting to see if the 5 week holiday reign can be interrupted. perhaps when 'lana' drops?
QueenofCopyPaste Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Brenda is doing a physical release this Friday and a live autograph session And an NBC Special on Dec 7 for RATCT She's coming out of her lair really this year wew! 11 1
Headlock Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Imma need Miss Brenda to come through so we can put this nonsense to rest, and then let Mariah reign the rest of the month 3

NEX Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 So we're getting 5 full weeks of Xmas clog this year? Happy for Mariah to extend her weeks at #1, but other than that it's really annoying at this point. Maybe BB needs to add the ACR type of reins for Xmas music, so we get 1-2 weeks a year instead of this mess. 3
ATRL Moderator supaspaz Posted November 25, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted November 25, 2023 The charts are broken. Time for Billboard to separate Christmas songs back out into their own chart. 13 4

Time for Billboard to separate Christmas songs back out into their own chart. Is it even worth that though? Wouldn’t the non-Christmas #1 have so few points because streams get so diluted with the general population dropping regular music for Xmas carols? Edited November 25, 2023 by PoisonedIvy 4
Popular Post Just a Gay on ATRL Posted November 25, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 25, 2023 This used to really bother me but it doesn't anymore. The music is everywhere for the last 5 weeks of the year and deserves to be shown as such on the chart. It's not like the Hot 100 was poppin' before this anyway. 15 1
galomika Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I love Mariah but hopefully, someone else also gets the chance to have a #1 Christmas song. 7
Almighty Gaga Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Year after year, the UK charts prove that they hit the jackpot with the ACR rule. 3
Rico Shameless v2 Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I honestly think with it being the same selection of songs each year they should just put emphasis on the Holiday 100. It’d be one thing if this was actually a hot market for modern Xmas music each season. 3 1

But not the last week of November (last year they only had 2 in the top 10 and 5 in the top 20)
tost1 Posted November 26, 2023 Posted November 26, 2023 No one listens to Xmas music this early, it's all because of retail stores

storminthedark Posted November 26, 2023 Posted November 26, 2023 Labels will either adapt to the Christmas freeze getting earlier and earlier by releasing in Q4 and hoping that it’ll make a resurgence as one of the first big songs of the new year or they’ll begin to avoid the quarter entirely
