As annoying as it can be to have the Hot 100 clogged up with christmas songs I do strongly enjoy the fact that we are in fact tracking the most popular music accurately (well as accurately as possible with the messy hot 100 formula obviously)

So we're getting 5 full weeks of Xmas clog this year? :skull:  Happy for Mariah to extend her weeks at #1, but other than that it's really annoying at this point. Maybe BB needs to add the ACR type of reins for Xmas music, so we get 1-2 weeks a year instead of this mess.

The charts are broken. Time for Billboard to separate Christmas songs back out into their own chart.

Is it even worth that though? Wouldn’t the non-Christmas #1 have so few points because streams get so diluted with the general population dropping regular music for Xmas carols?  :rip:

I love Mariah but hopefully, someone else also gets the chance to have a #1 Christmas song.

Year after year, the UK charts prove that they hit the jackpot with the ACR rule.

I honestly think with it being the same selection of songs each year they should just put emphasis on the Holiday 100. It’d be one thing if this was actually a hot market for modern Xmas music each season.

On xmas week yes, which is understandable. But not the last week of November (last year they only had 2 in the top 10 and 5 in the top 20)

No one listens to Xmas music this early, it's all because of retail stores

Labels will either adapt to the Christmas freeze getting earlier and earlier by releasing in Q4 and hoping that it’ll make a resurgence as one of the first big songs of the new year or they’ll begin to avoid the quarter entirely
