Not many indie girls get a gold certification these days. I think it is impressive. I can only think of Mitski other than Phoebe from this new gen indie girls

Not technically, because she’s indie for ATRL standards, but signed to a major and promoted as such lol but then technically Adele was signed to an indie label (XL) in the UK, so 25 was the last platinum certified album (and ten times at that! lol). But I swear I will return to you with a fair answer, because Adele was distributed by a major in the US. It’s like arguing that Big Machine is indie, so Reputation would be it lol

Last time an indie girl had a platinum album without those technicalities was Alabama Shakes’ debut (vocalist is a woman and main star) in 2012. ATO records. For solo stats I’d need to go all the way back into the 2000s archives. There are a few more Gold records btw.
