Wow that’s crazy, didn’t that album have like six top 10 hits?

I guess at the same time that might be a good thing because the Janet. album was released not that long before, so Design of a Decade didn’t kill its catalog sales. Unlike The Immaculate Collection which killed Like a Prayer and I’m Breathless’s sales since it included LAP, Express Yourself, Cherish, and Vogue.

I think believe it's because she switched labels. A&M could only get access to one janet.-era single, and they went with That's the Way Love Goes.

Pretty sure she only released it to get out of her Hollywood Records contract. Yes, it didn't make sense, but it gave her the freedom to get over to Interscope and her music career since then has much better.

Have nothing to say about your comment i justed wanted to acknowledge the cool new D.W pfp lmao

Madonna - Celebration. There are so many audio errors on it, from Dress You Up's intro to Erotica's sub-par edit mid-song. They used random Immaculate Collection mixes with other mixes, and that Frankenstein remix of Express Yourself is atrocious. The new songs are generally not great, and there are too many missing hits (Causing a Commotion? Angel? I'll Remember?) to justify the inclusion of Hollywood or the full-length versions of Holiday and Hung Up. And it's really sloppy that Mr. Brainwash copy/pasted images from Google for his collages that still had watermarks on them, and they made the final booklet. An embarrassing release that could have been amazing.

nnnn its my go to Madonna compilation too.

Whitney's first compilation. Unlike her peers, she put off releasing a compilation for 16 years and so when the window finally came the ppl were ready hence why it sold 10 million around the world. Yet its entire composition is a mess. the ballads were left alone in the "cool down" disc and all her uptempos were given some wack remix which were there only to capitalize off the remix explosion and her success in the clubs in her last era. Considering it was her first major career compilation and only one widely released for the rest of her career, its tragic. the ultimate collections in 2007 and 2010 were limited to outside the US and even the original 2012 edition of I Will Always Love You: The Best of Whitney Houston was missing several of her biggest hits and featured radio edits and one ugly new song. the 2021 version isnt perfect but it is a much better offer of what a good greatest hits album should be.
