New songs have always had to get substantially more streams or sales to go #1 because they lack airplay.

Even for Taylor, songs like Cardigan did double LoM’s streams first week to go #1.

Or IKYWT getting more streams from YT and 100k more sales but getting blocked because of radio. 
 

The H100 is as accurate or inaccurate as it’s always been. 

IKYWT was a different time, though, just before streaming was incorporated to the Hot 100. That was why One More Night was #1 on the Hot 100 for 9 weeks, instead of Gangnam Style.

Streaming was already incorporated on the H100 at the time. I remember WANEGBT losing some #1 weeks because it wasn't available on Spotify.

IKYWT had one of the biggest sales week ever and it ended up at 2

so happy Cruel Summer will get a 4th week at #1 (and likely it's last since Love on Me is predicted to do over 200 points the week after sadly). Satisfying seeing it have 4 weeks on top and that it will lose the #1 to a strong competitor and not just by a couple points. 

 

So Cruel Summer will get its fourth week, then Jack will get a week or two at #1 and then Mariah is snatching again

is it over now? had no problem dethroning cruel summer, just as drake’s single probably won’t have a hard time dethroning it either despite lack of radio. some songs are just strong enough to make up for the gap and some aren’t  with stronger streaming, this song could’ve easily went #1. it’s not like the points are high anyway.

yeah, jack wasn't even the weekly #1 on spotify.

I usually like to check the songs with more radio weight for fun, but never saw a song like this in the last 2 years
