It feels more fitting radio is latching onto it this Fall and Winter even though it already smashed in the Summer.

Deserved :clap3:this song deserved to be even bigger. Hope it cleans up at the Grammy's and Oscars

HTE being one of her biggest hits on streaming and yet didn't even go top 10 here feels so wrong :katie: Truly shows that radio means nothing nowadays, WWIMF could've very well ended up having the same fate if it wasn't for that mini radio tour she did a few weeks back

The way she has so many smashes but Pop Radio barely supports her. An alternative artisté mefears

Sooo well deserved :clap3:I think this song is gonna have a ton of longevity.

Damn she deserves more Pop support, but I understand as her singles are not as accessible as other pop songs. Happier Than Ever and Your Power are both brilliant but their song structures are so out of Pop's league and it was super difficult to overcome this on pop radio. Taylor also experienced this when she had the alternative songs Cardigan and Willow sent to pop radio.

But super well done to WWIMF! :clap3:

Happy that a ballad like this song, and everything i wanted succeeded at pop radio. :alexz:

The BE3 lead should try to straddle the line between commercial pop and wherever her new sound is going (sounds like indie rock from her comments). Then maybe two other more commercial sounding songs. Then the rest of the album can be the less accessible artistic stuff. I think it should be like her Red, in that sense.

I think Therefore I Am served that purpose of bridging the two eras last time, it just was released so far in advance so the album didn't benefit from its success. I think her team will be smarter with the singles strategy this time.

Impressive that this type of song like WWIMF? / a ballad going top 10 at radio

Is it organic or has it been pushed by her label? Peaking in november, when all the Barbie hype has already gone, is a bit strange.

makes sense her singles outside of those songs arent really that pop radio friendly :thing:

a future AC number one i fear

Oh, it's super organic, in fact, the overwhelming reception is having (as it shows on callouts reports) is forcing radio programmers to play it, they were hesitant about playing such a slow song, and if anything, the tempo of the song has been the reason of why the slow rise.

Ever since the pandemic when their main audience (drivers) deteriorated, they’ve compensated by only playing the hugest hits at peaks times to satisfy listeners and avoid churn, that’s how most radio hits end up in the top ten for 3-5 months and sometimes don’t peak until a full half year after release. Because at this point, WWIWF is a proven track that listeners won’t change the station when it comes now,

WWIMF is such an impressive success. It’s a slow, very personally-charged ballad. By no means is it a boring song, but it’s not something you’d imagine radio listeners liking because many people do have short attention spans for ballads.

It’s deserved though, a beautiful song. It needs to go top 10 in the US :biblio:
