So excited to see how far she’ll go - the sky is the limit at this point, it seems.

 

The gap to the next artist (Rod Stewart, #15 on their all time list) is 14m units, then Celine is another 8m higher after that, so it’ll be a while before she reaches them.

What happened 

It moved about 1.6m in the US alone (final Billboard figures tomorrow, but lately HDD is actually a little lower than Billboard). The 2.5m appears to be global units.

I don't trust chartmasters 100% but even without them this was very obvious for anyone who knows about charts  She moved like 22m units last year as per official source and this year will be over 30m+ atleast

Taylor does feel on Mariah and Celine level, which makes it just a matter of time before she surpasses Madonna.

Now people gonna cry here, but CM numbers for her matched ifpi last year too. And if ifpi ever come with equivalent list, maximum difference for bigger artists will be like five to ten million. Taylor is coming for best selling women title anyways. 

 

 

Mariah barely sells pure in catalog and her streaming numbers are upto date. It is done deal even if we add catalog sales. If not today but in some weeks anyways. . She is legend but records are meant to be broken. Taylor has massive consistency and no flop album in career. And will sell 100 million album units from like jan 2021 to jan 2024 , I read somewhere. 

 

Wait for boomers to cry pure sales now. But we can point out Taylor's massive touring numbers and then people will use ifs and wht that their fave could've toured. Excuses. 

 

Btw 1.8 million pure include Chinese sales or not? Because he separates them, despite them being pure sales.

Congrats to her but how can they state this when they haven't updated Mariah's total in years (at least 2018)? Caution has sold 0 physical copy according to them. Her Orphan numbers don't even include Big Energy, etc. I know it wouldn't make that much of a difference but it's stupid to compare things that aren't even up to date.

 

Anyway, her numbers are incredible

I would say it will take a while to reach Madonna level

Actually 40 to 45 million. And her first career 100 million came by 2021 start and she will reach 200 million club by 2024 start. Doubling her career sales in three years. Biggest peak ever along with thriller years

CM isn't perfect but it is source to see where people actual number stands. For eg if they have someone at 200 million. By offical reports, it will be around 210 million. Not perfect but better than fan inflated pages. We can make guess. And recently travis Scott, tina Turner team updated them as well
