MingYouToo Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 The thing that I think makes people baffled and discredit Taylor's success is that her success is too equally ratio'd between hit singles and albums. You've got popgirls bagging 1 hit album with like 5 hit songs in between and do it for like 3-4 eras then fade... Meanwhile Taylor goes on to her 10th, 11th, 12th, era and manages a hit album while bagging at least 1 or 2 hits. No wonder ATRLers think she's a local artist, she's successful on both fronts. 7 1

Rin singles are massive in the Uk Because Taylor’s peak is in the streaming era where it’s easier to accumulate units for singles and album tracks Madonna and Rihanna are clearly the biggest female singles artists in the UK, chart peaks and year end charts better reflect this. That said, Taylor is still growing and is indeed MASSIVE here, no one is on her level right now. 1 6 1 4

Yayy Edit : I’d rather settle for a #7 peaking, risk taking album by my fave who didn’t give a **** if that could alienate her fanbase than to settle for a #1 album whom’s main subject is karma, cats and purring. Her singles have less versions than the #2, Rihanna, for example, ALBUM TRACKS Desperado, Pose, Consideration and Sex With Me all having more remixes than singles Karma or Lavender Haze. And no, having that many albums doesn’t influence much as you suggest, when this is about singles sales and the likes of evermore and folklore only had 1 single each, while, again the #2 female Rihanna, had more singles off of Anti than Taylor has had from her past 3 albums and 3 re-records combined - and this is a demure amount of singles of an album for Rih. Swift doesn’t even have an album/era that has outsold GGGB or LOUD in the UK, let alone The Immaculate Collection, 21 or 25. What is even the source for this post? Isn’t it automatically certified there? Because one thing is certifications, the other the sheer amount of units. Going by certifications there’s an inevitable huge missing sales: A single selling 1 million = 600k in certification. Selling 2.3 million = 1.8 million in certification. A single selling 199,999 copies = 0 in certification. At current pace she will pass Rihanna’s album units next year too. Edited November 4, 2023 by Popboi. 1 10
