JoJo Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 (edited) A reminder that Taylor’s Carolina debuted with similar numbers around 2,000,000 WW and 800,000 USA, so anyone acting like Olivia flopped because an original song for a film didn’t do huge numbers is just completely disingenuous. 2 hours ago, Funnyfatty said: I really don’t feel myself comfortable with 30 year old man bullying a 20 year old girl for not being super succesful Those girls are growing up and are still discovering their images and their musical taste. Let them do what they want instead of creating a pressure on her that she has to be successfulz I’ve noticed this too, and it’s getting weird. So many ATRLers are insisting that Olivia is over and will be irrelevant soon just because GUTS isn’t as huge as SOUR. They really hold her to higher standards than her peers. Assassin Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 double of Hold My Hand and only 200k less than Carolina.
DeadInside Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 She fell so hard . The song is trash too, it's not gonna pull a WWIMF and become a hit.

You can see when one of them drops something, the daily streams of the other declines. It’s a very small percentage of the fanbases that took this feud seriously. I just think Taylor is overshadowing Olivia, she has been satisfying their demographic way more than Olivia this year, most of them are focused on listening and stanning her first OT: Less than Dance the Night, interesting True, I'm a Swiftie but listens to Olivia casually. I feel like Olivia not doing as spectacular is due to timing (i.e., intense competition) and her songs not resonating with the GP (i.e., GUT's heavy punk rock sound which is a genre with zero demand right now) Edited November 4, 2023 by aesthetic bih
Bosque Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 I mean judging a soundtrack single before the movie is out doesnt really make sense. But the song is very generic and I expected more
Kyoto Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 #142(-82) Can’t Catch Me Now 1,268,694 It was added to new playlists. The last soundtrack single by a gen z girl on 2nd day: #9(+72) What Was I Made For? 3,610,162 2
pinkdiamond Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Comparing this to WWIMF or anything off Barbie is disingenuous. That soundtrack had massive hype and multiple songs off it received full Single levels of promo. The album went #1 and even got Charli onto the Hot 100. This is not doing that

The GP only recognizes Jennifer Lawrence's Hunger Games. This movie will be a major flop and have zero legs. The song is not that good to take a life of its own beyond the project. Barbie was the box office phenomenon of the year and many of its songs were major hits
