LH and Karma were both… a choice to say the least so im glad to see her back on track now. AH CS and IION have all been chosen by other people, she needs to keep it that way :rip:

I believe LH was a single cause it was the first song on the album and it got a lot of streams initially. A bit like how with 1989 TV, you had WTNY getting a lot more streams than what it would've had at the end of the album. It would've probably been picked as a single in 2023...

LH was a great single choice though. It’s radio candy. WTNY is already down to #9. Being first on the track list helps, but LH was performing much better than that

Say Don’t Go is so reductive and uninteresting, Is It Over Now however a fantastic choice, easily the best vault track :clap3:

The Spotify update :deadbanana:

+800K on Monday, it’s a smash your honor. Now imagine if they give it proper playlisting and don’t leave it to wither and die.

Lavender Haze and Bejeweled had pre-recorded music videos before the album even came out. They probably just thought those were the safe picks.

I think it would have done better if Anti Hero wasn't overshadowing the entire album

It's a tradeoff. In the streaming age, not having a pre release single seems to significantly boost album streams as you don't lose hype between announcement and project. However, post release singles are much less successful than in the itunes age as people listen to the whole album from the beginning.

I  believe Taylor recorded the 3 music videos before she even decided which song was going to be the lead single. The Lavendar Haze video only really makes sense as a video for a pre-release single as it basically only teases stuff on the album. But I think Taylor decided that it would make more sense to make Anti Hero the lead single released with the album.

With ZERO playlisting! How and why! ZERO!

With a little push we would see a different story here.

Say Don’t Go deserves this success. I’m sure this will be a hit with longevity.

Don't let Diane Warren see this!

Well she has the best song regardless so... :bird:

A 4 minute + song was never going to work at radio.

This vault is the most perfect, as is this album. Have fun with y’all’s debates while I 💦 to every one of these songs.

I agree that Say Don't Go is the best vault track and could work as a single, but I understand why IION is doing much better - it's also a great song and the lyrics are hitting hard. I'm rooting for it to go #1, and then Say Don't Go could be the Cruel Summer :eli: of this album.

the GP is still thirsty for Midnor

ignore the screaming seagul, this song is OOTW 2.0. I don't hear midnights in this.

I need to see the initial radio response, maybe this could survive the winter freeze if audiences like it enough

Lol Lavender Haze is the reason i gave midnights the album a chance and now its my fave album by her :toofunny2:

That song is magical imo
