Anyone has the stats for countries where Swift is NOT Madonna level? Let’s humble them. She's literally the most streamed female artist in ALL those countries on Spotify, wtf are you talking about? Also, if Taylor is as "local" as you pretend she is, why has her Eras Tour sold out literally everywhere when it's all stadium dates? How do you explain the WW success of Midnights? I could go on and on and on Aren't you embarrassed already of the endless cherry-picking? Taylor is the biggest star in the world and that's an objective, quantifiable fact. She has to be THE biggest of ALL-TIME or it’s trolling. What’s up with that? We can say the same to you, it's like it does not satisfy you to keep claiming that she's not up there with Michael and Madonna. Like YOU can proclaim that by just looking at Spotify stats. What's up with that? OT: If this beats Midnights She's really unmatched and unstoppable. BIGGEST ARTIST OF ALL-TIME indeed 1 2
spiritboy Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Just wow. Taylor makes the charts exciting again and i'm glad it's a female artist breking these records (just like Adele did).
slw84 Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 It's the fact that the numbers will go UP for me. It'll likely near 1.75M when it's all said and done. 1
LovaticSwiftie Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 There always has to be two or three of those Karen users in every Taylor related thread. Stay pressed, Karens 5 1

Maroonx Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Gahh I love coming to these topics and seeing the haters meltdown... The best part is that they will go out of their way to spend hours to google random stats and check every spotify charts to see where Taylor isn't doing well to point that out... Nice seeing you try to cover your favs arse. Tay is still winning dollfaces x 1
UNNAMI Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Quote project a first week total of 1.45-1.55m The original 1989 opened with 1.29m in 2014. this is something I cant even imagine, how-!
Taemira Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 with that terrible karaoke production and lazy vocals? only white privilege can explain this situation. 2 1 2 19
Lille Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Outselling a lighting-in-a-bottle original album with a re-recorded version, years after the fact with even more reduced industry sales, without a music video or any traditional promotion in site. Only the biggest star on earth. It's an undeniable and quantifiable fact that she is in the same conversation as The Beatles, Elvis, Madonna, Michael, etc. Scott Borchetta must cry himself to sleep every night. GOOD. 2 1

UNNAMI Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 why suddenly madonna is in this topic? I thought this is about taylor

The definition of cherry-picking is mentioning three countries (US, Australia and the UK) and claiming they’re the be all- end all of the world. She did 100 million but is nowhere near a record breaker in most places and nowhere near Madonna level there is what would be the better answer. and where was madonna on that countries with her last album?

To be fair to the original 1989, I believe there was only 1 version of the album available at the time, and people werent collecting vinyls and memorabilia to the extent they do now with her. Original 1989 was enormous.

But also since it wasn’t in streaming, buying it was the only way to listen.

Giving an incentive to fan to buy multiple copies to have the entire set.

I still think there was less of an incentive at the time for multiple purchases though, as someone who has watched the fandom grow and Taylor memorabilia becoming more desired with time.

Original 1989 was enormous. There were multiple sets of polaroid packs randomly placed in the deluxe copies, and there was no way to know which pack you got until you purchase and open. So that was actually an even bigger incentive of multiple purchases than with this (knowing exactly what you get).
