I'm not seeing any praise for Work Biatch, like, it literally is a 2xplat gay classic :gaycatney6:

This was the final blow for that person with multiple accounts that kept saying Britney didn't have any multiplatinum single.

The girl from Sony said ITZ will get there any day now. So probably by next month just in time for its 20th anniversary.

I hope Britney sees this and feels empowered and happy about her achievements. One of the best-selling artists of all time. The undisputed princess of pop. What a wonderful day today it must be for her

Glory is probably not yet eligible for Gold, for ITZ they might as well wait for 5xPlat in a couple years.

The Maddie girl who updated her certs is saying :

did this! I worked on the certifications for the last 5 months. There were SO. MANY. One of my proudest moments in my career so far. In The Zone is just under the 4M mark based on the software RIAA uses. We are monitoring it 1000%. I’ll submit it the minute it crosses the threshold which could be any day now. I know it might seem crazy that her top selling albums aren’t eligible yet but the industry isn’t shipping millions of CDs anymore in the post 2004 era when they were last certified and now rely on TEA-SEA to get to higher levels.

Glory re current streams are in the pits so I don't think it'll be gold anytime soon but her self titled should be 5x now based on pure sales, can someone ask Maddie? I am not on twitter.

Those certifications are amazing for songs released in the physical era

Baby One More Time is the highest certified female song of 1998 (5x Platinum) and Toxic is the highest certified female song of 2004 (6x Platinum tied with Alicia Keys' If Ain't Got You). Also Toxic was around 6.5 million last year so it will probably top the 7 million mark soon.

It doesn’t make any sense.

In The Zone

Pure Sales - 3,000,000+

Toxic - 6.9M [6/30/23] - 690k+

Everytime - 1.2M [7/24/23] - 120k+

Me Against The Music - 600k [7/10/23] - 60k+

Outrageous - 250k [5/21/23] - 25k+
Breathe On Me - 200k [5/21/23] - 20k+

Touch Of My Hand - 75k [8/23/23] - 7.5k+

The Hook-Up - 70k [7/24/23] - 7k+

Known Nielsen Soundscan numbers: 3,929,500+

There’a no possible way an album that sold 3M pure copies shipped only 3,070,000 - having only 70k copies shipped and not sold would be virtually impossible. And this isn’t even including IGTBB, Showdown, Early Borin’, Shadow and Brave New Girl which would add at least another 35k.

I just watched the HIAM music video and omg it was such a huge event back then :jonny:

Can’t believe criminal is outdoing it even though i’m a huge fan of that song.

She said the software the RIAA uses is different. Maybe they don't take shipmenets into account anymore. Also, ITZ is up to 3,052,000 pure as of July 2021, so that's a total of 3,981,000 with several tracks missing (not to mention, Toxic is definitely higher than that now). So it really must be like, 2K units short or something.

Oh, and the pure sales must be a bit higher due to the vinyl re-issue this year.

BOMT came out 25 years ago. How many pop songs from the 90s are certified Diamond, besides AIWFCIY? I don't think i've ever seen one.

Toxic only sold 243,873 digital copies in 2004 (enough to become the 8th best-selling song of the year). So the fact that it has sold over 6M after its release is amazing. It has like 4M units from streaming alone.

Yes, singles weren’t selling for 60 cents with new remixes packed on iTunes back then.
