But so happy about over protected the chart data account had it on 185k they were clearly wrong.

It was obviously wrong. The digital sales alone were bigger than that  :skull:

Her debut is so enormous. Some artists even fail to outsell its fourth xingle.

A Maroon 5 song :bibliahh:

Do you really wanna play the collab card, ugh? :campfire:

- Britney’s last top 10 is a DUET and it underperformed as it’s only eligible for platinum ;

- Britney’s last tanked platinum song features G-Eazy ;

- Britney’s last #1 was given by Rihanna (a flopped one hence it’s only Gold) ;

- Britney’s last top 3 and best-selling digital hit, Scream & Shout, is a FEAT in which she’s not even a LEAD artist. William has much bigger hits than it with the BEP ;

- Britney’s penultimate top 3 was saved by Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj (and it’s forgotten trash).

Britney couldn’t even save the collabs of her own albums seeing how she made Madonna bomb. And that was during her prime! MATM is Gold and has abysmal streams: 58M on Spotity.

Christina’s collabs are alignated with success ; that’s the difference. :coffee2:

The 1999/2000 era and the 2001/2002 era were different for pop radio. In 99/00 pop radio still embraced pure pop, OIDIA was a huge pop radio smash. Its Jive that stopped the song from exploding on the Hot 100 by limiting its release so that album sales, like you said, could be inflated instead. Lucky wasnt released either.

Over the year I've read some stuff about that. I remember we fans always found strange she hadn't more hot 100 hits, so someone told me Jive didn't focused on singles so she could sell more albums.

I would not know for sure if radios in the US really embraced pop, cause in 1999/00 info was limited and I had no idea what played and what not, radio streaming was bad... but from Slave I know radios refused to play her. Even a big hit like Toxic that today is her ultimate popular song, it wasn't a #1.

Now for the urban, maybe was a bit later, but you can see "In The Zone" had some more "urban" tracks and even rappers. From what I remember, Jive wanted Outrageous to be the first single and she didn't want it because it was an R Kelly produced song and at that time he already had the fame of being an abuser. Then u had "I've got that Boom Boom" that many thought was the second single and she even performed it in several occasions together with MATM.

Also on Britney they started making the urban mixes for Boys and Over.

I think from 2001 till 2009 "urban" music was in and pop was out. Maybe I am wrong, but thats how I understand, maybe u can help me.

Well considering the song itself has more streams than certain artists entire Christmas albums I'd say it is a big Christmas hit.

Did I touch a nerve :bibliahh:

Xtina last solo top 10 was in 2008 and that song can’t even cross the 10m mark on Spotify, and I don’t even want to mention that awful Spanish album that didn’t chart ANYWHERE, and as a whole can even cross the 100m mark on SPOTIFY

It's so weird how music consumption has changed over time. Stronger and Crazy felt like multi-platinum smashes but I know people was buying the album and not the singles.
