jomarr Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 Some of her previous certifications date back almost 20 years ago. Jive/RCA what the **** are y’all doing Hopefully we get ITZ certified as 4x plat soon.
skizzo Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 (edited) How are some of those multi platinum, i'm assuming streaming and digital downloads? Cause OIDIA had a very limited CD release back in 2000 (which explains its low Hot 100 peak) Edited October 24, 2023 by skizzo
Yoko Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 what does that put her total US certifications at now?
Green Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 Blackout 2x Platinum In The Zone and Circus 3x Platinum Toxic 6x Platinum Even My Prerrogative, Radar, Overprotected, My Only Wish this year getting certifications But Britney (album) should have been updated too. Isn't it eligible for 5x Platinum? @Hector 4

Pop music wasnt so well embraced on radios and she got boyicotted from Slave on for not being a good role model for kids. In the 2000s u would need a more urban sound meaning almost all girls who wanted to have a hot 100 hit would have to add a raper on their singles. So this is probably the streaming revolution.

The 1999/2000 era and the 2001/2002 era were different for pop radio. In 99/00 pop radio still embraced pure pop, OIDIA was a huge pop radio smash. Its Jive that stopped the song from exploding on the Hot 100 by limiting its release so that album sales, like you said, could be inflated instead. Lucky wasnt released either.

Blackout, Circus, Femme Fatale are NOT multi-platinum, no matter how hard you’re trying to convince us. So what now? 37
