I mean, Fighters keep telling us that Aguilera is not a flop because it was in Spanish and it did not even debut in the Billboard 200, i say Bunny's numbers are quite impressive 1
Blue Rose Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Every artist is expected to debut bigger after a gigantic era. This isn’t exclusive to Bad Bunny. Anything above 100K is a success imo but this is obviously an underperformance 1

Shall we take a look at Miley/Ariana/Selena's last album numbers after having #1 hits to support their albums. All acts on their prime, releasing ENGLISH albums. Miley is 16 years into her career, Bad Bunny is in his 6th year they're not comparable at all
Relampago. Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 It’s fun to watch ATRLers be so out of touch despite y’all watching charts for years like hawks lol Bunny is underperforming not because his celebrity has faded or because he’s over, it’s underperforming because no one is here for 2017’d trap album from him. UVST was THE album of the summer, I don’t see anyone perched for a trap album with the holidays right around the corner. And despite all this his level of competition is: Taylor, Drake, Travis, The Weeknd, Harry, Olivia. None of which are Spanish singers and some of them are nowhere near as big as Bunny WW. His “flop” era is bigger than basically every ATRL fave except Taylor who is on track to potentially be the biggest solo artist of all time. 3 1
Relampago. Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Also people are acting like he was a non-factor prior to UVST… he was already massive by that point. He’s not really that much bigger now to anyone besides people who didn’t listen to him then and still won’t listen to him now. Oasis/YHLQMDLG were the eras that solidified him. UVST was just the 1989 which was a massive peak, but he wasn’t unknown or a niche celebrity by any means, at least not in Latino/Hispanic circles.

Positions by Ari was coming off a #1 single and she was at her peak, yet she debuted with 175K. Nobody was interested in listening to music or cared while there was 24/7 worry and concern about who would be the next President. 1 2

Life Savers Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 (edited) Bunny's numbers are fine. The album doesn't really have hits, it's the trap album his hardcore fans had been asking for for a while. Edited October 18, 2023 by Life Savers
