Was Pennywise inspired by a pedophile?

John Wayne Gacy (March 17, 1942 – May 10, 1994) was an American serial killer and sex offender who raped, tortured, and murdered at least 33 young men and boys in Norwood Park Township, near Chicago, Illinois. He became known as the Killer Clown due to his public performances as a clown prior to the discovery of his crimes.

Gacy committed all of his murders in his ranch-style house. Typically, he would lure a victim to his home and dupe them into donning handcuffs on the pretext of demonstrating a magic trick. He would then rape and torture his captive before killing them by either asphyxiation or strangulation with a garrote. Twenty-six victims were buried in the crawl space of his home, and three were buried elsewhere on his property; four were discarded in the Des Plaines River.

The investigation into the disappearance of Des Plaines teenager Robert Piest led to Gacy's arrest on December 21, 1978.

King has stated that he first conceived the story in 1978, and began writing it in 1981. He finished writing the book in 1985.[2]

The timelines seem pretty suspect, is Pennywise inspired by this pedophile? Discuss:coffee2:

I don’t think Stephen King has ever stated that Pennywise is based on JWG, but it’s hard to ignore the similarities.

At least Freddy is more honest about his intent, Pennyped has to hide behind being a nonhuman creature

There is a big difference between being "inspired" and BEING one. Imagine wasting your second chance at life trying to be inside a child's body.  :deadbanana2: That is horrible, sick and atrocious.

Well he had to because it's the 1st human he introduced himself to (per rules of the voodoo):cm:

Otherwise he'd turn human in a doll

It’s kinda weird that Gacy was the inspiration for Pennywise, married a woman called Marlynn Myers and sexually assaulted a boy called Donald Voorhees. :deadbanana:

Isn't it so obvious? That's why Pennywise stans are ABSENT on this forum.... Even they are embarrassed :ace:

Thankfully Slayface and Daddy Michael would NEVER be attached to such a troubled lifestyle.
