Doja is not doing 150k even with 21 different physical variants. She doesn’t have the cult fanbase that will buy physical copies of her albums. 2
Theluckyone Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 This is actually really decent for Ed. There’s really not much promo, no hit or buzz single to get the GP’s attention, so this number pretty much reflects his core audience tuning in. Which is a healthy and respectable number. He can easily rebound once he gets another radio hit, when he does more pop-leaning stuff again. 1

Prodigal Self Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Great numbers all things considered no matter how y'all spin it, so good for Ed
Mr. Duff Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Insane because I expected Familia, Holy **** or Charlie numbers at around 30-40k. The album is great but since it’s not getting pushed this will be out of the charts after the first two weeks. Too bad because I think American Town or Plastic Bag could end up a decent hit like Eyes Closed.
Cryptique Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 ED, you don't have a big CULT Base like Taylor or BTS.. Your strength is the GP.. you cannot find success in releasing BORING album ala folklore 2

Maroonx Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I predicted 50K for this... so it's doing slightly better x
fememeist Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Serving Scarlet numbers but without the payola
GreatestLoveofAll Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Deserves 100k for England and American town alone 3
spiritboy Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Stop comparing everyone (and Ed) to Taylor, y'all know her career and success in an anomaly and a once in a generation thing. Good numbers considering there's no singles, videos and performances to support the album. And the music is brilliant.

superben Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 This is a good number for a special project with no promotion. Ed Sheeran does not have that strong of a fandom to guarantee high album sales anyway.
OnlyManInTheWorld Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 It’s kinda painful when you put it in a perspective: he was slaying everyone with „Divide”, even Taylor. And now Taylor sold almost 1.6M during her first week and he’s doing 60k
Renan90 Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 (edited) A FETCHING TOP 20 Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time (Big Loud/Mercury/Republic) may make an unexpected return to #1 on this Friday’s HITS Top 50, but Alamo’s Rod Wave is within striking distance. The week’s top new entry is Ed Sheeran’s Autumn Variations (Atlantic). Meanwhile, Taylor Swift could account for seven of Top 20 albums—five of them from Republic—as she fights with the Right for encouraging her fans to vote. Now if you’ll excuse us, it’s October 3rd and that means we're watching Mean Girls on loop. https://hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=337824&title=A-FETCHING-TOP-20 Edited October 3, 2023 by Renan90 1
Hector Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Ugh At least Drake's For All & The Dogs & 1989 (Taylor's Version) should keep him off #1 for the next several weeks.
ATRL Moderator wehavetostan Posted October 3, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted October 3, 2023 Rooting for Olivia 2
Klein Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Midnights going up, Lover re-entering the top 10, 7 albums in the top 20.
slw84 Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 So he'll hit sweet sixteen before the female and male 2010s AOTD domination for the rest of the year. Olivia holding. Rod holding. This is the perfect time for a Drake and Taylor release because the charts are in a lull right now.
