I swear y’all just be saying anything to make yourselves feel better. The articles said a deal wasn’t made with studios and streaming serves due to budget issues (them not willing to pay Bey what she asked for) OR a lack of desirability. Given that she already has a multi-film deal with Netflix, she could have easily given it to Netflix, which would have helped them since they are losing subscribers.

this article says something different

It’s said the Renaissance visual album was first shopped about four to six months ago, but studios and streaming services passed. When asked why, the insider couldn’t give a definite answer but credited the possibility of budgeting issues and the film’s desirability.

the studios and streaming services passed/rejected/declined, not beyonce :sistrens:

For those who are not aware the problem with releasing movies in theatres is that the marketing is very costly. That's why Disney releases certain movies only in their streaming platforms.

And I doubt Taylor is going to do great outside of Anglosphere in theatres either.

I get the point. It seems like you’re the one not getting it. A concert film has been done before. Taylor is not the first person to work directly with a distributor for something and even if she was, that’s not the point - the point is that she’s a musician doing a film with a theatrical release and that’s been done before quite a few times. The only new thing about it is the behind the scenes deal taylor worked out with amc that amc is now offering/working out with other artists to get them more money as an incentive to release to amc.

but the POINT of it - the concert film - has been done before. Mind you Beyoncés may not even be a concert special and she’s done those before

can you name another artist who sent their concert film to theaters with no studios involvement? ill be waiting.

What I said: “budget issues (them not willing to pay Bey what she asked for) or a lack of desirability“.

The article you referenced: “credited the possibility of budgeting issues and the film’s desirability.”

The exact same thing. :ace:

Obviously that means the studios and streaming services “passed/rejected/declined” if they don’t want to or cannot meet her demands.

Furthermore, it was reported in 2019 that she signed a 3 project deal with Netflix, which hasn’t been fulfilled.

Who tf cares about the behind the scenes negotiations, we don't even have the DETAILS of Beyonce's distribution, it hasn't even been officially announced, and I doubt we will ever get them

just wait a few more days. if there's a studio involved, we'll know about it. otherwise, it's Taylorprint :clap3:

So Beyoncé’s team can do this in a few short months but Gaga’s needs an entire year to do the same thing :deadbanana4:

Oh miss me with the semantics. Whether it’s “and” or “or”, it doesn’t invalidate anything I said and doesn’t change the fact that you’re still wrong.

Have a nice day.

whats happening is beyonce is in final talks to release renaissance tour film through amc theaters FOLLOWING TAYLOR SWIFT, via Variety

The Beyonce deal follows on the heels of one Taylor Swift brokered for: a straightforward concert film based on her widely-attended Eras Tour. The terms are incredibly favorable for Swift, reports have said, who self-financed the project and will take more than half of box receipts. Beyonce will receive the same arrangement, and stands to pocket more than 50% of the worldwide grosses, an insider added. The industry is tracking Swift’s AMC experiment to open north of $100 million in October.

i guess you really do need to know what is being discussed before jumping in headfirst, fearless.mp3 :khalyan:

It’ll be interesting to see how this does compares to Taylor’s.

Imaging arguing this hard to prove nothing, instead of hanging out in a thread about someone you enjoy, listening to music you enjoy.  Instead you're here arguing about details of a deal you have no details about, and never will about two women who are probably both billionaires :rip:

Exactly, just a whole bunch of stupidity and lame attempts at throwing shade.

Taylor isn't the first artist to release a tour film to cinemas. :rip: Please stop. The fact that she struck a deal with AMC is irrelevant, it's just something she had to do because of the circumstances in Hollywood.

I’m confused why y’all in this thread can’t take a step back and just be happy that we have two epic concert films to watch this fall.

I was not implying that it is going to bomb outside of America but TLM did 95M domestically and less than 70M outside of it which was considered disappointing for Disney's standards.

I don't think the international gross vs domestic is going to be 50/50. :michael: Still very profitable though.

THIS is a concert film I'd go see in theaters.
