To be honest we stans are all buying up to 15 copies each so the physical sales are mostly stan driven. But that is the same for everyone I guess. 

 

Without all the variants the numbers would be significantly lower. 

 

HOTN is bringing decent streams as it was added to NMF playlists.

What's the biggest female debut of 2023 in the UK? I just know SNTV did close to 70K and GUTS wasn't far off from that. Can't think of any others that did better. I hope Kylie can somehow do over 70K and claim that biggest female debut so far this year

What blocked Body Language and X from debuting at #1?
Me thinks a follow up to the smash Fever era (preceded by me thinks her best single) and a comeback era from her cancer treatment would have generated enough hype to snatch #1. 

Also really putting the album covers of all her #1 albums together just makes it overtly unbearable how ugly the last two are

Body Language didn't even make the top 5 in the UK, debuting and peaking at number 6. It was released in an extremely competitive week, but its sales were still quite low. Each of Ultimate Kylie, X, and Aphrodite debuted with bigger numbers than it (82,000 for the first two and 80,000 for Aphrodite vs 69,000 for Body Language). The first week for Body Language was a big drop from Fever's first week of 140,000, so sales fell by nearly half in just 2 years. My only guess is that Slow didn't resonate well with the GP, and the album's more experimental sound prevented it from accruing the kind of positive word of mouth Fever had. Regardless of all of that, had it been released a week earlier, it would've peaked at number 3.

 

X had to go up against Leona Lewis' Spirit, and in the 2007 holiday season that album was so huge that Kylie would've pretty much never gotten to number one. She was less than a thousand sales away from peaking at number 3, and had X been released a week earlier it would've peaked at number 2. There was no getting around Leona, however. Leona spent the final six weeks at number one selling more each week than Kylie's biggest weekly sales for any of her albums.
