Starkboy Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Quote Kylie Minogue storms ahead in the race for this week’s Official Number 1 album, with Tension currently outselling the rest of the Top 20 combined. Kylie’s 16th studio album – preceded by recent Top 10 hit Padam Padam and its title track Tension – could earn the Australian superstar her ninth chart-topping LP across a career spanning 35 years. Previously, Kylie reached the Official Albums Chart summit with 1988 debut Kylie, 1989’s Enjoy Yourself, 1992 collection Greatest Hits, 2001 record Fever, 2010’s Aphrodite, 2018 release Golden, 2019’s Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection and 2020 LP Disco. Quote Elsewhere, Doja Cat looks set to debut at Number 3 with her fourth studio album Scarlet. The parent LP of current Official Number 1 single Paint the Town Red, Scarlet is on track to match the peak of Doja’s highest-charting album to date, 2021’s Planet Her, and become her third Top 40 album overall. Hot Pink provided Doja her first Official Albums Chart entry in 2019, peaking at Number 38. WERKER Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 I know this might sound crazy, but with the fact she has her own pop up in London with queues outside I was expecting 80k+ for Ms Minogue with the amount of hype this has been getting. Still amazing nonetheless! 1
LVP Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Will Kylie sells more in Uk than Doja in Us? I think it’s possible
Heartbreak Prince Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 That's insane for Kylie queen of the UK.

glitch Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Disco did about 50k iirc so this makes sense. Crazy how she's outdoing most of the new artists by such a large margin.
Both Sides Now Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 (edited) Kylie, the LEGEND that you are Edited September 25, 2023 by Both Sides Now
SupremeGoddess Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 and we’re only halfway through to think some people were worried Doja would block her only for Doja to struggle in the top 5

When Disco did 50k and this has a whole merch pop up with insane hype and multiple different editions then yes I did estimate it to sell more than Disco

Nashe Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 I hope she outsells Disco (54.9K). 15K more seems out of reach tho, but oh well! Doing such albums numbers and scoring hit singles at 55? I-N-S-A-N-E !!!! 1
Britney Spears Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Is Kylie outstreaming Doja in the UK?

Don't girlies buy every variant? That's why they do multiples and how Taylor gets such huge numbers etc. The pop-up wasn't just for merch it was about Tension as a whole and to drum up more interest in the album. Like I said, its still great numbers but I was expecting more 2
Mordecai Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Get that #1 queen I am loving the album and this has been such an amazing comeback for her, she deserves every success

No, but she would still go #1 based on streaming and digital sales alone. 1
Popular Post Heartbreak Prince Posted September 25, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 25, 2023 That Little Mix stan still pressed that Disco ended them. Why would a cute pop up store sell over 40k extra copies 1 17

Nefertiti0 Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 (edited) 25 minutes ago, Britney Spears said: Is Kylie outstreaming Doja in the UK? UK chart has this rule: "The 2 album tracks attracting most streams are neutralised to the level of the average of the next 14 highest streamed tracks associated with the album" so this means that many streams from 'Paint The Town Red' and 'Agora Hills' do not count Edited September 25, 2023 by Nefertiti0 1
