ninasayers Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 (edited) After going viral on TikTok over the last few weeks and reaching over 1 million videos using an unofficial audio of the song If It's Lovin' That You Want reached a new peak of 533k daily streams yesterday (9/22). The second and last single from Rihanna's debut album, Music Of The Sun, peaked at #36 back in 2005. It's certified Gold in the US and silver in the UK. On top of this, Music Of The Sun received over 1 million streams yesterday. Edited September 23, 2023 by ninasayers 2
naval23 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Such a forgotten underrated classic - it deserves a resurgence! 1
Keeandga Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 As it should, it’s underrated one of my favourite early Ri singles.
naval23 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 (edited) The GP is realizing R9 is never coming and there's one last stone that was unturned... If It's Lovin That You Want resurgence party Edited September 23, 2023 by naval23
blown away Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Such a cute song. It's not too memorable but still a lot of fun nonetheless. Lemme give it a listen.
BeenTheShit Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 In what context is the song being used? Is there a challenge or dance?
istan4badgalriri Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 The fact that it surpassed Pon De Replay in daily streams... didn't think this day would ever come 1 5

Truth Teller Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 SUCH a cute song. Her first album is an overall demo disaster but the 3 songs that hit, HIT We NEED that AGLM revival though. That album is filled with career highlights. Kisses Don't Lie is top 10 in her discog, SOS needs its justice as the precursor to all following Rihanna pop smashes, Unfaithful is a classic, Final Goodbye is one of her best ballads ever, Dem Haters is A+ reggae-influenced r&b, We Ride is a top-tier sunny day bop. I don't remember how the other 4 tracks sound but they were probably half decent too. 4
rp662 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Well, I don’t like this song but congrats Queen.

Harsh2256 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Oh ofcourse. We need this album to reach 1b by hook or by crook. But I never understood why for a debut album def jam only had her release two singles and expected the album to sell... let me and rush next.

Yeah, MOTS could've had at least 2 more singles; so much wasted potential there.
Nightingale Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I always loved this song and wished it was more remembered so glad it’s getting its time to shine
Zoe_ Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I've seen so many shorts with this song playing.
Ariel Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 A classic Always preferred this over Pon de Replay

Let Me was supposed to be the 3rd single they were gonna shoot a video for it in December that year, a shame that didn't happen SOS was a surefire hit so that's probably why they changed their plans and quickly moved on to album #2 when they heard the song 1
Johnny Jacobs Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 It was always better than pon de replay 1
Movimento Perpétuo Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 The song that I discovered Rihanna and one of her best bops ever TABS!
