dumbsparce Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 Every chance I get. There's something so freeing about it.
shinyshimmery Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 I love doing this when Halloween and Christmas come around. I drive around nearby neighborhoods to admire people's home decorations for the occasions. I decorate my house as well, but I like seeing other people's creativity too. During the Christmas time especially, I love making a hot drink and driving around doing this. Other than this particular scenario... I don't like driving around aimlessly.
poki Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 I used to zone out when I had to ride trains. One time I fell asleep on the train and ended up 3 states away from home. Actually contemplated to myself, "do I go back home or start a new life here" 1
TaggedGalaxy Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 Yes usually at night, I like to put on some Lana music and drive around with no destination, it's a stress reliever for me
DamianSolo Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 I used to all of the time, until it hit me how many unnecessary miles I was putting on my car. I used to just drive and drive and drive for hours around town and the surrounding areas. That's how I ultimately learned my way around; I know all of the shortcuts and back roads because of it. I find driving relaxing in the late evening/night hours. I don't do it nearly as much as I used to, but sometimes I'll take the long way home to just take a relaxing ride.
Alldeezy Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Used too but then petrol got expensive, covid happened and my aniexty of leaving the house got worse. I do love driving my car and think only time I will is if I drive down to Melbourne pumping allday loud on long drives.
KMO Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Sometimes. Usually to see parts of my city I haven’t before. Otherwise petrol is expensive
imabadkid Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Lol when I first got my license in high school but definitely not now. driving can be exhausting
Daddy Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 No, you only should use the car when you really need it. Y'all ruining it for no reason (including my faves). Get some exercise in and walk
Mark Rih Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 (edited) Driving alone in my car, with my own playlists.. I think it's actually my favorite way to listen to music. Pure escapism I don't do it on purpose but when I find myself in the situation I'm always happy about it lol Edited September 19, 2023 by Mark Rih 1
Sylpher Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 14 hours ago, Blue. said: No, but Indo walk around aimlessly sometimes while the sun goes down listening to music. Maybe I get a coffee. They are my mental reparation walks. But I live in a REAL city made for people and not cars, so maybe it is the equivalent of driving around aimlessly in most US car centric cities. I'm in the US and the closest city to me is fairly walkable, but I have to drive like 20 minutes to get there.
Sylpher Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Yes I used to do this several times a week when I was unemployed or I would drive farther than necessary to get coffee or something because I enjoy the drive. It's fun to explore I guess and it feels like a necessity get out of your room.
