Freaky Prince Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 Imagine the sales, performances and looks had she promoted there. This is so good to see that Japan didnt drop her because they werent living for the haggery era. I want her to become BTW era huge in Japan again.
burninredhot Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 I do not consider gaga daily to be a reliable source but still good for miss gaga
doonerr Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 It helps that this decade has only had three years in its belt

ArtNick Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 I'm curious to see the actual source though. I believe the certifications there are based on pure sales (by that logic it's not eligible for gold - 100k units).

kendoll2001 Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Japan has always loved Gaga and been one of her key markets her whole career

It has surpassed 100,000 units on the combined chart on Oricon, however, you need to be charting in the top 50 to get an updated number. When her team issued a tour edition of the album in 2022 it was able to re-enter the top 50 and we could see the updated numbers. It probably is the the MPG album that has moved the most units there this decade but it's hard to be specific because we can't see the data. I think folklore is probably the runner up. Maybe Midnights now tho. It has sold around ~30,000 physical copies and ~10,000 digital copies iirc so you're right on the certification point. 1

Spoiler not quite true that it all bombed, liddos tend to be harsh when its' not popga calling things local etc - C2C did really well there ASIB sold 40-60k pure (it just didn't have a hit), HMH won a gold disc Gaga has audience in Japan, and push comes to shove they'd go for the old 2000's EDM pop era thing - reminds me a bit of of MDNA teas with the france-italy-japan and collabs carrying Edited September 19, 2023 by Mr. Stratus
newaespa Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 >90% of the sales are contributed by BLACKPINK where BLINKS will just buy anything with BLACKPINK attached into it, so good for gaga i guess 1
