KatyPrismSpirit Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 SOS also being the far superior album. Queen! 1 1

Anyway SOS isn't really getting toes to toes with Midnights especially globally. Midnights is still doing better despite being released 2 months earlier and having much higher debuts. remove debut week (fan fueled) and they are toes to toes. so insecure. and yes, SZA is a smaller artist to the public. that’s the whole point smartass. the fact that someone as mismanaged and can barely even be classified as a Pop star like her is pulling Taylor level consistency is the gag were talking about here. First there's no reason to remove anything from Midnights sales ("fan fueled" doesn't mean anything, I could also say that all of SOS non Kill Bill streams are fan fueled). Second even if you remove them, Taylor would still be ahead by a large margin in the US and an even larger one globally and Midnights has shown better longevity with SOS only barely surpassing it this week with a JB remix while Midnights promo and singles rollout has stopped months ago. Midnights will likely rank higher in 2023 (without its first months while SOS amonly loses a few weeks) IFPI lists unless SOS deluxe edition overperforms. 1

You also weren’t making these excuses when Midnights passed SOS again in May/June when Midnights deluxe was released with Ice Spice and/or the massive tour promo exposure was happening (alongside just the exposure of Taylor being Taylor, which is a point yall struggle to understand). 1

It's not really "catching up" given that SOS had pre release units and Midnights has always been selling higher launch aligned in the US while the global gap is even higher and widening as we speak. 1

Jjang Posted September 18, 2023 Author Posted September 18, 2023 that swiftie getting triggered by the mere point that its shocking that a mismanaged non Pop star like SZA is toe to toe on charts with Taylor’s last album is precisely why they are so unbearable

Steve Johnson Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 There is no toe-to-toe situation here. SOS is nowhere near Midnights. (5.74 vs 3.1) in US. Globally, the gap is much bigger. 1
lonnie Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Came in here expecting the usual people to discredit Rih/Anti and got surprised by the SZA stan(s) going at it with the swifties 1
superben Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Congrats However, longevity on charts is better in 2020s for big albums thanks to streaming.
