Jkawaii Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 (edited) So here we are, the most wonderful challenge ever and I went home second... Back into New Bark Town, I was shattered however I put on my shiny sneakers and look for some clothes to rock the Johto region in search for a new start. So then I was wearing my blue and white striped sleveless shirt, and the cutest lacey pink pastel skirt, I put my matching Pokémon cap on, and it was looking sickening with my long ass weave, my cool blue shades reflected Prof. Elm walking towards me, I took a Pokéball from my iconic hoop bag, when he asked me what I have archieved on my travel to the Alola region, as soon as I grabbed out the Pokéball my best frind Brionne poppped out of it greeting me and soothing me with her bubbles... My journey has just begun... After a long time of hard training of course I got into the Elite Four, in a world full of Spooky and Hihg Fashion queens I made my way to the top and I wanted that to be reflected on my Elite Four look to intimidate those dirty challengers, so I greet any trainer on my sequin mermaid dress with pink earings and bracelet because I'm an opulent bitch that means I own everything, as soon anyone steps into my chamber a flood starts waving my pink pastel wig, so I take off my pink shawl and terrify my opponent with the sound of my white shoes, by my side my girl Primarina ready to slay anyone. As we synchronize, we became one with Pokémon, my tight white corset, and my mermaid skirt exude realness My blond wig waves with the breeze and my pink starfish pins my white headpiece, I rock white pumps with pink soles on the sand, my pearl necklace under an expensive pink fur shawl frames my body and my Aja inspired make up makes me feel like a real Pokémon, it's time to say goodbye to Primarina for now, but remember as the waves comes fast and foward, Primarina is gonna be back again for another Rain Dance... Bubblebeams Primarina. Edited September 5, 2017 by Jkawaii

Citrus Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Episode 11 - The PokeBall Judges' Critiques Aciid said... Disclaimer: Despite this being based on Pokémon, I'm still judging fashion here and drag queens, not cosplayers and anime characters. Lola Cabezas I want to applaud you for your effort here. I was really surprised when I saw your entry because I never expected you to go for this collage to make a look type deal. You did it at the right time and it pays off. When I saw your trainer look I immediately knew what you were going for and what you were inspired by. You know that I've shaded that Dawn look before though, I guess our taste differs and we can't help that. I think its a cute look to start things off, but nothing spectacular. Love your little story and the whole room write up/image you did for your elite. It's really cool, and the most successful of your looks altogether. It looks like a wicked, ruthless bitch. Serve hondooom horns. It also ties in with your disney persona and I love that. I have some issues with your ace look. It just looks funky, and I blame that on you not being able to change the color of certain things. If I'm looking at that correctly, you chose a mcqueen dress that is stunning on its own. I dont think you needed the top part because it throws things off, and it doesn't quite match. The shoes are not good, and I love how the scarf looks, reminds me of the ninja kids, however it needed to be black. Finally I like the makeup, but I think it would have been fun if you got more creative and had some bug eyes mask deal and antennae. Gladys Lux Maure Your drawing game went up a few notches for the ball, and I commend you for that. Starting with your trainer look, its quite possibly the most realistic of the 4. It's so cute and I can totally see this working on a trainer. But fashion wise, eh this doesn't excite me at all. It's so basic and pedestrian. I guess it's part of interpreting the challenge, but I still wanted to see fashion inspired by pokemon. Not cosplay. The hair as always so good though. Moving on to your elite, this was my favorite of the elite looks. So campy, fun, fits in pokemon but it's still innovative and fashion forward. I have no complaints and extra points for using my favorite bear pokemon cubchoo. The ace look is very well done and the connection with your ace is very good. My favorite part of it is the hat, I love how you were creative enough to use the shield as one of those chinese hats (sorry if I got the culture that uses them wrong). Great shape and its very unique. Faye Shull Damn girl you went all out. Extremely proud of you in this challenge because you blew it out of the water for a second week in a row. How can you not praise the fact that you illustrated your own looks DIGITALLY. Ugh obsessed. My least favorite of the looks is the trainer one. I think it brought you down a bit because it's sooo basic. Even the hair. Pokemon hair is so cooky that you could have had fun with it, and the outfit while being made to be outdoors it's a mediocre effort for me. Your elite look just oozes sex. Love it head to toe, absolutely no complains. She reminds me of every sexy character in anime in the likes of Mei Terumi and Rangiku from Bleach. Stun. And finally that ace look...girl. What a ****ing slay. It also gives me yu gi oh teas which is so cute considering your attachment to it. Bravo Noah Fence At first I thought your trainer look was the worst, but as I studied them more and I put your pieces together it became my favorite. Why? because its not a direct interpretation of what a character in the game, its fashionable and whats most important its YOU. I also loveeee that you created your own story, region and tied in all your looks into one. You created a brand that is so important for a drag queen. The look is also so androgynous and I live. Your elite look is again so fashionable when you put the pieces together. Love the top, love the makeup, love the hair, love the shoes and love the dragon theme. The gloves look on the cheaper side but I'll let that slide. Finally your ace look is amazing. Architectual, cultural, editorial and fashion forward. Love love love. And you tied it in with Umbreon so perfectly without needing to try to emulate what he looks like. He also goes so well with your whole theme. Tangerine said... Lola - Trainer Look: I love the design, it reminds me of Dawn in Platinum but with more fashion emphasis. I definitely see this as a Lola look, very well-off rich girl journeying all alone on her own for the first time. I especially love that you accessorized for the Winter and the cold but decided you wanted to show some leg regardless. Very relatable. Not sure what's going on with her face but a very good look that wouldn't be out of place in the games. Elite Four: This is an alright look. I see elements of it fitting into a game fine, but I'm not sold on that headpiece. Given the wild nature of pokémon character design I think I would've preferred a wild and big hairdo over that budget maleficent crown you have on now. The rest is nice, the feathers add some flair and the dimensions on the torso are cute. I even like your rod. But Honchkrow, really? Ace Pokémon: Surprising choice for sure. I respect the hell outta the making of this look, serve actual sewing challenge honey. I feel a slight onset of PTSD at the butterfly heel, but it's ok. I think red, green and yellow altogether like this are a bit jarring, and I would've changed the colour of the butterfly part but the look is nice. I love the stiff, always windblown scarf you have especially. Solid. Gladys - Trainer Look: Now this is a look that could go straight into a game with no edit. You could be a lass or a schoolgirl no problem. That hat is something they would use for sure, very cute. I also love the Z-bracelet thing (the name escapes me), attention to detail is cute. Nice work. Jigglypuff is better though. Elite Four: Very pretty, I like the cage idea but maybe make it less of a tent and more skirt? I love the little ice crown and hair, the whole top half of this is great. The bottom is good too, but there a little details here and there I want to pick at. The shoes aren't my favourite, the dimensions on the cage make me want to take it in, the belt is too much. These are just nitpicks however, and overall it's a good look. Ace Pokémon: I adore the hat and the little veil drooping down, the hair is cute too. I loved the Dusk Stone detail too, and the dress going all the way up to your neck is a good choice. I also love the gloves. You get full marks for the top half, and even the bottom half isn't bad at all, I just have to wonder about the end of the dress. I like the sword-like extrusions but the tube like ending at the bottom is the only thing I am not sold on. Still, it's a rather amazing look. Faye - Trainer Look: Yes, I got the ranger inspiration instantly. It's cute that you wanted long hair on tha girls but sometimes a hat can add that little extra character to a lacking design. This is quite good, I see a lot of little details that instantly make me think Pokémon like that short cut jacket and the shorts beneath the skirt. I would like midriff though and those boots need to be bigger. Nice enough work. Elite Four: Excellent. I love that giant jacket, I would wear that now. It's that perfect item that takes a design above and beyond. I do think the middle should be placed higher on the body but that's a nitpick. The hair is nice, big and lots of volume. The rest of the design is simple, but that works because of how the coat is the attention draw here. I love it. Just pick a better type next time. Ace Pokémon: Loving this concept. The antimatter hair tendrils are everything. Doing this for a legendary pokémon is certainly risky but you pulled it off. Partially because your design looks as important and regal as the original, Giratina rules his dimension and you look like you could rule your own if you wanted to. Final boss teas. I really see nothing to dislike about this at all. Noah - Trainer Look: First of all, I appreciate that you went in your own original direction for this challenge. That said, I find this part of the entry really confusing. I also feel that this wasn't the best category to go so against the grain for. Everyone else sold me on a potentially real design, this stands out even more for not doing so. Most of these points are just for the idea alone. Elite Four: Love the sideboob and the tasteful pant. I want those arm scales to match the gold ones, I just find the green and gold jarring to look at like I did on Drip. This is simultaneously more exaggerated, in the theatrics, and less exaggerated, in the actual look, than everyone else's. As a design it is on the basic side, without the mask I don't instantly get dragon, but if you were to leave it on it looks cheaper. Still, I have to say I love the fire breathing. A good gimmick to pull out for this part. Ace Pokémon: Definitely your best look, the one in which you best managed to combine your concept with a pokémon idea. I love a big geometric mess of a dress, so I'm a fan of this look you've chosen. Good thinking on a simple, slick hair to keep attention on the dress and the makeup is as expected for an Umbreon look. You could've probably lost the jewelry tbh... I find that when you rock a big shapely outfit, it's best to do work with little other than that. Good job though. Moonchild Said... Lola: Trainer Look: Whew, I feel like I’d see this at a Pokémon fashion show. The details in this look really bring it together. I love the earmuffs and the Pokéball belt, especially. It feels like Lola and it’d fit in well with the actual games. Elite Four: This look feels more tacky than elegant. It isn’t very flattering and you fell into the “dark” clichés here (witch, feathers, black, ram skull), so we’ve seen this type of look before. The fabric on the skirt looks cheap, and I get Tim the Enchanter teas from the ram skull. I think this would’ve been better if you subverted the “dark” looks we normally see or went for a Bayonetta-style fashion witch. Ace Pokémon: I like the silhouette you went for here, and the scarf is a really nice touch. I wasn’t crazy about the rest. The greenish top clashes with the red scarf and the yellow skirt, and the textures of the pieces don’t really go together. You have metallic heels, a soft skirt and a scaly top. None of the elements really work together with each other, and it brings the look down. Gladys: Trainer Look: This feels like it could be placed right into the games seamlessly. I love the monochromatic pink; it makes it feel like drag. I do wish the boots served a bit more fashion-wise, but I won’t fault a working girl for practical shoes. Elite Four: I like this concept. When I think ice, I think sharp and geometric, so the igloo inspiration felt fresh to me. My only criticisms here are in the details. I don’t think the cage dress needed the fur trim. Blue make-up always looks a bit off unless it’s done well, and I think you would’ve been better off going with a normal mug here. The boots have a nice color scheme but they’re a bit frumpy. I think this look was really cute overall, and Cubchoo is adorable. Ace Pokémon: This is such a slay. I love the shield hat, the purple veil, the gloves, the blocked-off colors, the silhouette. This is really creative and cute. No complaints; great job. Faye: Trainer Look: I appreciate the Ranger inspiration, but this serves a bit too much realness, I think. There’s not much that distinguishes it. The gap between the crew socks and shorts is awkward. I think this could’ve used a distinctive accessory, like maybe a scarf or bandana. It’s true to form, but not exciting. Elite Four: This, on the other hand, is my favorite look of the night, so slay. This is simple but so, so effective. I’d wear it myself. I think you were smart in how you tied in the Psychic palette and the symbol on the coat. Really great job. Ace Pokémon: This is really bold. You chose a legendary with a complex design, but you lived up to it. I’m not a huge fan of the headpiece, but that’s minor. You translated Giratina’s design pretty well and I love the details like the necklace. You serve anime final boss that eventually gets defeated with the power of friendship, which is pretty cool. Noah: Trainer Look: I like the direction you went with this. The cream/red color palette is cool and I really like the hairstyle. The fan is unnecessary. I think it’s a bit basic, since it’s just shoes, pants and a coat at the end of the day, but the direction makes up for it, I think. Elite Four: This is cute! I like the top, gloves and boots. You could’ve done some more with the pants, and a bob doesn’t feel right for this look. I’d like the mask to match the look more too in color and materials, but that’d probably be hard to find. The fire breathing is a cute stunt. Ace Pokémon: You saved the best for last, and I like the cohesiveness of your entry. The dress is stunning. I wish you lost the accessories and just kept the make-up pics, because the dress speaks for itself. Cool inspiration and great look. Citrus said... Quote Lola Cabezas Your trainer look is stunning, easily the best of any of the girls for that category. It looks chic and styled in the way that Kalos never actually was, but I'm living for the revisionist history. Your Elite 4 look is good in concept and execution, but I can't shake the feeling that it's a little too World of Warcraft-y. I like and enjoy the drama of it, but the headpiece makes it a bit dark for Pokemon. Still cute tho. Your ace couture is where you really lost me - I was shook you didn't use Weavile, especially because Ribombee didn't work out for you very well. The idea is cute but the pieces you've selected hardly go together and it's just too many things clashing at once. . Gladys Lux Maure Whew, the asskissing by including a Clefairy. It worked though! Your trainer couture looks like one of Ash's scrapped companions when they decided he needed a firecrotch. Love. Your Elite 4 is a wee bit too cartoony, especially in those ugly boots you have a propensity toward. I like the structure of the skirt a lot, though, and it's genius to have the fur but also showing body, because you damn well know they don't design women for comfort in those games. Your ace couture is very smart if not horribly exciting. I think your ice look beats it in terms of presence, and, while there's nothing explicitly wrong with the ace look, it just needed a little more grandeur. Perhaps if you could have somehow drawn the sparkles it was supposed to have. Faye Shull Your trainer look is cute but boring because it could have 100% just been lifted from a game. There's no aspect of you in it aside from the short shorts. Luckily, your Elite 4 is GORGEOUS, best of the night. You really captured the style they go for, and that look is both sexy, mature, and ready made for a release. Like, I would've bought it if you had said it was USUM pre-release art. Stunning. Your ace couture is very intricate, and you do a good job matching Giratina her power. Great all around. . Noah Fence I like the idea of a new region and all of your looks fitting into that, reminds me of Moo Shu from Wizard 101. Anyways. Your trainer look is a cute idea but it's not presented in a way that's easy to imagine. I get and can visualize it, but it's a little rougher than the other girls in terms of presentation. Your gym leader is a cute idea but ultimately kinda reminds me of a Koko dance outfit with the heavy sequins. Luckily, your ace couture is BEAUTIFUL, easily my fave of those looks. It has a concept, relevance to theme, and it matches Umbreon spectacularly. She may be an ugly overrated rat, but you made her look stylish dammit.
