This is the T right here. Back in 2021 every single one of the Rodriguettes were claiming she was not going to peak in her debut, so I was expecting at least Harry's numbers for her or even 80m

never heard of such a thing lol

and even if that was the case, SOUR was absolutely huge, I'm sure tons can only dream of having such a "peak".

It's okay, she peaked with her debut album. It's not the end of the world.

what were people expecting?

I didn't enter a predictions thread. Were people expecting 75-100M or something

These aren't bad numbers.

for a follow up to a big era, I think this is a good sophomore number.

Posted

50% of artists peak with their debut album and like 90% within their first 3 albums

No drag here. She can peak and still do good

Posted

Would it go down to the 40s tomorriw

i didn’t like the album

but I do have get him back on repeat

This is great. In comparison to Billie (40M) and Dua (25) sophomore, this is really great.

Wait Bey's Renaissance did more opening day streams than HTE and Dua? WOW

These are good numbers. Idk why anyone would drag (or overpraise). It's clear Sour was her peak and she'll never replicate let alone surpass that. But at least now she's an acclaimed artiste. Love the album :heart2:

ATRL was at its peak when Pop Girls exploded in their second eras after establishing a fan base on their debut - Taylor, Katy, Gaga, Rihanna, Adele, Ariana, etc.

So we do really have unrealistic expectations for the pop girls today.

I guess nowadays we'll just see pop girls who will debut big and just peak.

Yeah, this is pretty much Billie Eilish again, their debut albums will be their peak and each successive album after that will decline in sales.

And this album does not have big hits like G4U, which did 10m at the time, so non-singles are pulling more streams than Sour's.

I know math is hard

Oh so she held a bit. Not bad. Hopefully she has singles to keep it going

Billie's second album dropped to like 40M. Olivia's did 100k less than her first album. :rip: It's not the same.
