I won't comment on the substance of the tweets themselves, but people who are so desperate to take down people they have only ever seen on a reality show and have never met in real life that they would dig up tweets/posts, some of which were made over a decade ago are seriously unhinged. This obsession with having a 'gotcha' moment is so weird.

 

Like I can't stand Kerry, I can't stand Chanelle, but once the show is over they're never going to cross my mind again.

 

Disappointed in Trish though because you're all right, this is going to overshadow anything she's brought to light on the show and the racists who never liked her will just use this as a 'gotcha' moment

I get that but the difference is that Trish is (was?) way more beloved than those losers and was set to have the biggest career post-show.

In hindsight, I do think Chanelle stepped up to the villain role unknowingly is kind of a kii. Out of everyone from the garden group, she always seemed the least likely to be problematic. She really did ruin it for herself this past week. Going from Immune to Evicted is such a funny arc that seems to good to be true.   So with that, I do appreciate her in some ways.

 

As for the Trish tweets, yes they're disappointing. But they're over a decade ago. I don't know anyone who regrets things they've said or done before. I also don't know anyone who was the same as they were 10 years ago.

Trish was an incredible housemate but this is all extremely disappointing.

 

As much as I wanted her to win, i'm glad she didn't now.

In a weird way, Trish not winning might have been a blessing in disguise because this could have been an even bigger scandal if she walked away with the money.

 

I still like Trish. We saw who she was. We know where her heart lies… but there’s no skirting around the fact those were some truly vulgar tweets… and I like that her apology doesn’t downplay anything. She recognises she was in the wrong… she’s owning it… people can interpret it however they wish to.

 

Disappointing but better it comes out now so she can get in front of it and address it.
