You don’t see how a song streams counting towards both an album and a  single’s certification is “much different” than the purchase of a track only counting towards a song’s certification? Seriously?

I guess I'm just confused on why exactly it matters? If someone is playing the song from the album then both metrics should be counted.

It’s billboard that needs to get with the time and FORGET about the album “unit”. A sale is a sale a stream is a stream. There is no way to make them equivalent. They should implement a separate certification system for streaming. There are so many colour and luxury stones out there. Quartz, ruby, emerald, amethyst etc etc. but No: we’re stuck with gold, platinum; and diamonds. It’s exhausting
