Demi/Luísa: #1, biggest Spotify debut of all time in Brazil

The album is very good so i'm glad it's smashing :clap3:

And I wouldn't discredit Demi for this song's performance, if it wasn't for her feature it would've done 800k-1M like most of the other album tracks.

This :rip: It's 100% Luisa power, Lovato fans exaggerate Demi's power in Brazil when all the girl releases in almost 5 years made no noise in the country (and in the world), she was struggling to sell a 10K venue the last time she visited the country and now almost all the pop girls have diamond certifications there :rip:

That would be true if the rest of the songs had gotten as many streams but they did NOT.

 Demi had a lot to to with the song's performance and the fact that she sang in Portuguese had a lot of brasilians talking about the song.

Demi is literally the third best selling album by a pop girl from this century, just behind 21 and I Am Sasha Fierce, and you guys can’t recognize her force

keep underestimating her! You will be shook soon…

Obviously a large amount came from Luisa but it's VERY obvious Demi contributed a lot to the song's success considering it hat 800'000 more streams than the next most streamed song on the album :skull:

That's objectively a HUGE difference :skull:

Demi is so huge in Brazil you don't realize. I have many Brazilian friends and her fanbase in there is literally so big.

The fact that this song debuted with 2M with a 1M gap from the second most streamed song of the album proves that Demi's power in Brazil is truly insane. And ofc, Luisa is huge as well. She's an amazing artist

Congrats to both :heart:

This is not meant to be a drag but how did it only do <100k in the rest of the world?

Because it's a 100% portuguese song. Portuguese is locally known. Brazilians went crazy because Demi sang in Portuguese. Don't listen to that obsessed Selena stan, Demi contributed as much as Luisa to this record.

Luisa doing INSANE numbers. The fact that today her album debuted with more than MOTOMAMI, :jonny6: wow, she’s THE brazilian MPG at the moment. :clap3::clap3: is there a thread about her album debut here?

“Penhasco2” got people curiosity the most cuz Luisa already has a beautiful hit song “Penhasco” + Demi singing in portuguese. Congrats for them!

The backhanded compliment 💀

Luísa really won. Impressive numbers

Also, Demi is still VERY huge here. Her fanbase is still loyal, and she can easily fill big arenas in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Some of you are really trippin' acting like she is a huge flop like random ex acts like Bridgit Mendler or Bella Thorne :toofunny3:

It’s odd considering no Demi release this year has debuted with that many streams in Brazil.

It's not odd at all. Demi sang in their language and since she's a household name there, they were curious to check the song. Demi singing in Portuguese made the news everywhere in Brazil.

Household name? Her songs since the Dancing album until present have made no noise there.

That doesn't mean sh-t. Go check the Spotify Charts of Brazil, barely any English song is charting high. So this is pretty normal. Also her singles still debut top 100 most of the time she releases which not much international artists could do so that's already a big feat. Maybe you just don't know how the music industry works in Brazil for foreign artists.

Also her album Holy f-ck haven't left the top 80 of Apple Music Brazil since it's release. Also she sold out the Mineirão in Belo Horizonte just last year. She still got it there no matter how biased you are. It's just a fact.

Literally all of the A, B and C-tier artists can debut a song inside the top100 on Spotify Brazil :deadbanana2: and it doesn't mean they are household names here in Brazil.

Apple Music Brazil is just a non factor here. Everyone only uses Spotify and Youtube.

Like someone already said, she's had 2 diamond albums in Brazil in the past decade, with one of them being 3rd best selling pop girl album of the century (possibly higher, considering it is 2x diamond eligible now).

That's not even mentioning the many diamond singles.

Don't know why you would try to argue that she isn't a household name

i'm brazilian and everyone is kinda wrong and kinda right :laugh: from all sides.

1. in fact demi doesn't do numbers anymore with her songs for a loooong time already here in brazil;

2. it's true that apple music is a non-factor here, even Deezer is probably bigger. so yeah, it basically doesn't matter;

3. Demi did help cuz her singing in portuguese made news over internet pop fans, that's true lovatics! of course she did help.

4. but the reason "penhasco2" made numbers above the other tracks is not only cuz of demi... it's cuz there's a loved luisa song called 'penhasco', and penhasco2 being a "2nd/complete" version made noise everywhere (tiktok, twitter and etc) since she dropped the name of the song weeks ago, August 9! Demi was the cherry on top.

Nobody said it's only because of Demi. We all basically said it wouldn't be that HUGE without Demi. Meaning it could've debuted with 1,2/1,3M maybe but not 2M. Th fact that Demi is in it is what made it record breaking
