Demi/Luísa: #1, biggest Spotify debut of all time in Brazil

Well, i'm from Brazil and i can tell you: she would hardly sell out an arena tour here like she did in the past. She's a known name, but her music is just not known by anyone now. Her last two albums tell it by themselves. It's not a case of one or two flop songs, it's two whole albums that became such as the biggests flops ever compared to her peers.

Again, i'm not meaning to look shady toward Demi, this is just a fact. Her WW fans failed to check the song more than 100k in this song, but if you look, her whole WW fans (including brasilians) failed to even make her lasts singles to debut with over 200/300k, like????? :biblio: Her last music video doesn't even reached 1 MILLION VIEWS in more than TWO MONTHS :deadbanana4: NOT EVEN 1M VIEWS, and that video is a nom in this year's VMAs, what makes everything even harder to believe.

Just because someone was relatively successful and known for their past work, it doesn't mean people will care to stream for a song/album, as we've seen countless times.

I wasn't familiar with her numbers as of late, but yeah, 100k is def too low even for her.

Demi Lovato with the right team and the right promo strategy can become one of the most successful artists of her generation (she already is)

I was there in 2017 during the TMYLM era and everything was going SOOO right for her with SNS, it truly felt like she was rising and then... Everything else happened.

Right time, right music, right rebrand and just stop being so vocal about borderline chronically online issues, she'd smash. Get her back on that dive pop sound.

See... there he is. That user never fails to enter a Demi thread to say she's a flop :toofunny3:

Literally no one knew Demi and Luisa had a collab. It was all announced 9 hours before the song dropped. Not to mention that being a Portuguese song doesn't really help.

I think we can all acknowledge that, yes, Luisa was going to pull great numbers regardless, but a feature with Demi, singing in portuguese while at it, created a special interest on the song among brazilian pop listeners, which made the track the most streamed out of the album.

Not everything is black and white. :toofunny3:

When it comes to Demi everything seems to be black and white for certain users.

Thankfully Brazil is Spotify’s 2nd biggest market. We are the moment.

Couldn't say it better than that - yes, that track was probably going to pull great numbers with or without Demi on it, but Demi helped leverage to even a bigger scale.

Yes but in 2017-2018 so many factors played a part on why demi’s career fell off unfortunately

This is not meant to be a drag but how did it only do <100k in the rest of the world?

because brazilian MPG did the heavy lifting :clap3: but demi helped too, she has a decent fanbase here

Wow Luisa really is THE Brazilian MPG! Also congrats to Demi

Not a Demi fan but her Portuguese was really cute, she barely had any accent. I’m Brazilian btw

Luisa’s album broke all the records here: for songs, album’s numbers on Spotify and AM, amount of songs charting etc. Basically: it’s as if it’s our Midnights. And the album is BEYOND amazing, I highly recommend y’all to listen to it even with the language barrier. It’s totally worth it.

The Demi overpraise lol Luisa did most of the lifting.

This :rip: It's 100% Luisa power, Lovato fans exaggerate Demi's power in Brazil when all the girl releases in almost 5 years made no noise in the country (and in the world), she was struggling to sell a 10K venue the last time she visited the country and now almost all the pop girls have diamond certifications there :rip:
