BlazingLovatic Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Demi sang in Portuguese for song with Luísa, which has broken the record for biggest Spotify debut of all time in Brazil. Demi and Luísa both have Diamond-certified albums in Brazil and are 2 of the biggest popstars of the century there. 2

thatsmydemi Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 (edited) Damn, 2 millions is crazy. That's literally USA Spotify numbers Good for them! 1 hour ago, DawnAnti said: Demi Lovato with the right team and the right promo strategy can become one of the most successful artists of her generation (she already is) Watch that Selena stan come here to tell you she's the biggest flop of all time Edited August 31, 2023 by thatsmydemi 1
Scars Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Not a Sonza fan, but her "Escândalo Íntimo" album also broke the record of biggest debut on Brazil Spotify, so I think this the perfect result of a very popular local artist collabing with an international artist that left a mark on a entire generation of late millennial/early gen z brazilians. Well done! 1
liquiddiamonds Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 (edited) The Demi overpraise lol Luisa did most of the lifting. She broke Spotify records and confirmed what we all were suspecting with Doce 22 that she had become Brazil’s top MPG for Gen Z. She has the third biggest female latin album OAT debut after Karol G’s last two albums. Not to take away from Demi’s input, who’s a very dear live performer here Edited August 31, 2023 by liquiddiamonds 5 1

Not to take away from Demi’s input, who’s a very dear live performer here I mean, you are in atrl and Luisa is still relatively unknown outside of Brazil. It's obvious most people here (most of the comments so far come from Demi stans) are talking about Demi Of course, Luisa is doing incredible. As the user above mentioned, this is the perfect example of a local artist working with a well-known international artist. 5
Freakshowvato Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Demi sang in Portuguese and if you look in Twitter comments, everyone was shook. This was the most streamed song of the album and so gorgeous and haunting. 1
Freakshowvato Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 There was like a tweet every 10 seconds in Portuguese about Demi singing in Portuguese. For an international artist to sing a ballad in a language like Portuguese, that is a big deal. it’s insane this did not get any playlisting yet 2M streams mostly from Brazil alone 2
ronald Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Everyone praised Demi for singing in Portuguese which is apparently not common. It was Demi who asked to sing in Portuguese and finally a good move from her lol 2

corotinho Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Just now, ariananext said: Yeah but Demi's featured and she's known WW. Not really No shade, but those numbers are 90% coming from Luisa, Demi failed to even chart her songs on Spotify Brazil, and that diamond certified is from eras ago. 3

Because the true news is the insane numbers Luisa pulled from just one market with an album in portuguese. Doing more than Motomami and Anitta’s Versions of Me that had a current latin american hit and international push is crazy. Demi hasn’t been a thing in Brazil since TMYLM (she can still tour here though). BUT i dont want to shade ms Lovato who owned this song Edited August 31, 2023 by liquiddiamonds 1

Yes, Demi is absolutely known WW, let's not be delusional. Her music may not be huge but she's known by everyone in the 18-30 age range thanks to her Disney shows + celebrity status, just like her peers. Of course the numbers aren't coming from her, that was my point: as much as a song can be local due to its language, is shocking that less than 100k Demi fans outside Brazil checked the song.

Well, i'm from Brazil and i can tell you: she would hardly sell out an arena tour here like she did in the past. She's a known name, but her music is just not known by anyone now. Her last two albums tell it by themselves. It's not a case of one or two flop songs, it's two whole albums that became such as the biggests flops ever compared to her peers. Again, i'm not meaning to look shady toward Demi, this is just a fact. Her WW fans failed to check the song more than 100k in this song, but if you look, her whole WW fans (including brasilians) failed to even make her lasts singles to debut with over 200/300k, like????? Her last music video doesn't even reached 1 MILLION VIEWS in more than TWO MONTHS NOT EVEN 1M VIEWS, and that video is a nom in this year's VMAs, what makes everything even harder to believe. 4 2

Just because someone was relatively successful and known for their past work, it doesn't mean people will care to stream for a song/album, as we've seen countless times. 1
Selegend Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 (edited) Luisa doing INSANE numbers. The fact that today her album debuted with more than MOTOMAMI, wow, she’s THE brazilian MPG at the moment. is there a thread about her album debut here? “Penhasco2” got people curiosity the most cuz Luisa already has a beautiful hit song “Penhasco” + Demi singing in portuguese. Congrats for them! Edited August 31, 2023 by Selegend 1
