Kern Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 not for me since I'm not working monday - friday anymore but when I did it was horrible
shyboi Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Actually there's a scientific explanation for this, I think. Something about the spike in dopamine friday to saturday causing lower levels of dopamine on sunday
zasderfght Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 While no work schedule is ideal (because work is work, unless you can get paid to create/produce/sell whatever you want to/however you want to for a large profit, or, you're a trust-fund baby), I still prefer the Sunday Scaries over not having a 9-5 Monday-Friday job, and here's why: -Working this way allows you to have consistency. You want to typically wake up and sleep around the same time (and get that 6-8 or 8-9 or 9-10 hours; I keep forgetting the time duration). -You can plan better. If your doctor is available on weekends or late evenings-- you can have consistent and more frequent doctor visits. You can easily book hair/nail/car upwork-appointments. I've worked overnight hours (HIGHLY, HIGHLY do NOT recommend), late-afternoon/evenings, early morning/afternoon, and my favorite is the 8-4/9-5 schedule. 1
Domination Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 This time period is actually fine for me. Sunday 9 PM is the worst, that’s when it really sets in.

I was definitely depressed. I wasn't sleeping. I had horrible insurance. I hated my job. I also had a chronic medical condition that didn't go into remission until much later. It was an awful time for me mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Iyanla, Fix Me Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 They're called the Sunday scaries for a reason!
sweetblindness Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Not sure, for me it's more like 6pm-11pm when I realize bedtime is imminent and the work week is descending.
Sombre Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Yes, the dread that the work week starts up again within 12 hours and you're desperately trying to do something worthwhile before nighttime.
Cannon Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Sunday nights are the worst. I’m not ready for the weekend to end. 2
Bacardo Royale Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Monday morning is worse, on Sunday you can kinda pretend it's still Saturday but Monday always feels like a Monday
popmusicisdead Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 (edited) yes. i've always hated Sundays. at least Mondays mornings you still have a lot of energy and the atmosphere is very lively with everybody is running around being busy. Sundays are just gloomy and depressing. Friday is still the Main Day Girl Edited August 28, 2023 by popmusicisdead
UnusualBoy Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 I think that it's because you know the day is getting over and the next day is Monday so it's weekend is done and you gotta start a new week. Friday and Saturday remain the best days of the week.
DamianSolo Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 No, I'm still living my best weekend during that time, with plans still waiting to be fulfilled. For me, it's generally after 10 p.m. to the following morning, which this past Sunday and Monday morning was no exception. The week has now been kicked off, though, and I'm looking forward to my three-day weekend.
skwonderfactory Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 I guess I'm amongst the minority who still enjoy Sunday evenings fully because they are still part of the weekend. Like, I never have not enjoyed them except before I was in college and I graduated four years ago.
izzy™ Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Sounds about right by 9 pm it usually starts setting in for me
AM98GJ Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 WFH has kinda erased Monday dread for me, nice way to slip into the week
GentleEarthquake Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 I think the most depressing part of the week is Monday 12AM to Sunday 12AM
