mercurialworld Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 For many people, astrology can offer a glimpse into our personality traits, relationships, and the future. People often consult astrologers to analyze their birth charts and absorb the wisdom it offers. But others remain skeptical—dismissing astrology as superstition and nonsense. What do you think? Do you believe in the power of astrology, or do you think it’s all hocus-pocus?
Virgos Groove Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Not really, but I still love checking the Pattern app every now and then.
Sheep Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 I don't believe in it at all but if it helps some people understand themselves and other people better by reducing them to character traits I think that's valuable.
Tropez Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 No, not at all. There’s no actual scientific evidence that’s supports it. It’s fun and not to be taken seriously. 6 1
GraceRandolph Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 It’s great for entertainment and trivia purposes. Some of it has proven to be accurate for me. 5 minutes ago, Tropez said: No, not at all. NEX Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 No. One of the most popular delusions with absolutely no basis to it
ultraviolence.xx Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 i mean, seriously? no. is it a fun silly thing to blame my problems on? absolutely. 1

BTS Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Used to until one day the world decided my birthday is a now completely different starsign and I spent years reading horoscopes that are now meaningless, I will NEVER become a Scorpio.

Smarticle Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Sometimes it hits it on the head, but I guess if you bs enough about each sign you're always gonna get something right 1
Bussea Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 to a degree. but some of these new age zodiac ******* get on my damn nerves 1
Frappucino Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 No but with that being said Crapicorns are the worst 1 1
Illuminati Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 I don't obsess over it but there's definitely some intriguing accurate stuff there. I like to believe that maybe it's the season we are born in that shapes us, like winter kids being less exposed to nature in their first months or something simple like that, or maybe it really is about the stars. People try to find patterns in everything, it's biological. Those that don't believe in astrology can still at least partially agree with MBTI personality types or whatever else that's popular.

Maxxxine Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Yes. It’s been a practice for thousands of years, and planets and stars have to play some role in our life. Everything exists for a reason. They are a reflection of us! Where are my Joni Patry stans at?

How much good faith scientific research has really been done on the topic though? A lot. It’s the very definition of a pseudoscience. If you have a basic understanding of astronomy and physics. It makes no sense. But like I said. It’s fun and not to be taken seriously.
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted August 26, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted August 26, 2023 Not in the sense of whatever predictions the horoscope makes on that day, but I do see similarities between the people I met of the same sign, and I also see that I am drawn to certain signs. I am aware it's pseudoscience, but I don't think that anyone who believes in it (and not to an extreme) should be automatically cataloged as insane or that people should have a problem with that person.
mystery Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Absolutely not, the memes are funny sometimes though. | 1
Pop Life Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Imo astrology should be treated like tarot. It can't actually predict the future, but with a little intuition the archetypes can provide valuable insight.
Onyxmage Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 To a certain extent but not the tarot readings. I don’t play with demons.
PoisonedIvy Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 I don’t really believe in it but I think it’s got a lot of beneficial properties and truthfully sometimes the blanket statements get it pretty right (while still factoring in that nature and nurture will always win out in the end over allegedly predisposed characterizations). The things I mostly agree with are fire signs are temperamental but passionate, air signs are nonchalant/reckless but adaptive, water signs are sensitive/emotional but sentimental, and earth signs are stubborn but grounded and well rounded.
GentleEarthquake Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 As an astronomy undergraduate, I don't and there's no scientific proof that it is accurate 3
Jacobdaniel Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 no. but it's fun. yet annoying at the same time
