Best to keep in mind most Chinese restaurants are barely related to Chinese cuisine first of all. At least where I live it's such an umbrella term for all low-quality takeout "Asian" food   Personally I prefer Korean and Japanese if we're judging cuisines geographically, but I like Chinese too.

Korean food is decent, but it does not have the variety of other national cuisines.

 

But OP thinks Chinese food is overrated based on whichever restaurants near him that cater to the incredibly liminted taste palette of the average American yt person.

I honestly have no clue? I've only ever tried Americanized Chinese food, which is fine after a night out, but never the authentic stuff

No. One day we need to have an honest discussion about how basic and bland European food is, from Italy to France. Thai, Chinese and Korean easily clears

no. there's so many different kinds of chinese food that you can try that have so much flavour.  westernised versions of chinese food are overrated, but those aren't even authentic anyway.

No Japanese food is overrated.

 

Love Japan, been there a few times and their food is.. basically everything has soy sauce, no variety at all.

No. Chinese food isn't my favourite but they can make even the blandest of foods tasty, always full of flavour
