Well, regardless, huge achievement for Oliver Anthony, congrats, haven't heard the song. I've never seen country music this strong before.

What the hell is this top 3?! :biblio:

Back in my day (early 2010s) main pop girls dominated the charts to keep uglies like Travis and this red headed Hagrid beasts from public visibility. Now it's just a who's who free for all.

Maybe the pop girls should stop releasing bad music and they’ll find success again. There’s only so much heavy lifting Taylor Swift can do by herself with a song from 2019.

Fast Car is great though in all of its iterations, and even the Luke Combs version going number one would HUGE for Tracy Chapman as a songwriter. So I’m rooting for it for that reason alone at least.

Honestly, it doesn't matter whether Fast Car or Cruel Summer get blocked by this Rich Men song. Either of them getting blocked at #2 would instantly make it the worst instance of a song getting blocked at #1.

Because at least when Bad Romance, Complicated, Party In the USA, You Belong With Me, Since U Been Gone, We Can't Stop, I Knew You Were Trouble, Work It, and countless other songs were blocked at #2, they were blocked by legitimately huge smash hits that the entire GP knew and liked at the time. Where as in this case, it's getting blocked because one community decided to randomly push this out of nowhere by streaming and buying it and no other community is touching it.

wait how CS go from challenging #1 to dropping to #4? this country takeover is something else :deadbanana2:

The #1 came of of nowhere and 2 through 4 are super close.

Last 2 days of the tracking week the streams werent that amazing. That trend has continued into this week, which is why CS isnt that close anymore to Fast Car

Yes but worse than that even.

Dynamite went #1 multiple times but didn't block anything from going #1

Both of the songs Butter blocked both hit #1 before or after.

That song being #1.

WHAT THE F+CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. :ahh::ahh::ahh::ahh:

Fast Car is doing better on streaming this week than last week. Maybe if that Rich Men song decreases on sales then Fast Car could have a chance for #1

But TOTC is predicting it will sell 100k again :doc:

Dynamite was a more legit #1 than at least half of the songs that went to #1 in 2020. I mean, who remembers how The Scotts, Stuck With U, Trollz, or Franchise even sound like.

The sad thing about Butter spending all these weeks at #1 was that the best pop song of the decade in KMM never went to #1.

Kiss Me More would have been blocked by Olivia anyway though.

This is a reach, male artists get away by releasing mediocrity the whole time while women have to release something 100x times better than them just to be recognized

Not surprised by the MAGA dominance. It's history repeating itself all over again. With each revolutionary movement comes an anti-movement to counter the change and stop the progress. Eventually, things even out and balance is restored. It has happened many times in politics, society and is also reflected in the arts. POC and LGBT people have been dominating the charts for the past couple of years and it was only a matter of time until the most stagnant genre took over to prove whatever point they're trying to get across.

Doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of their singles have been horrible and unappealing for years now. Last Night may be mediocre, but it's still a far better song than anything any of the pop girls have done lately.

Cruel summer could still get number 1 if her fans  work for it

The top 4 looking like a MAGA convention. :thing:

bad idea right? is set to freefall next week. Debuting top 10 is not impressive for a major artist - unless a song spends 4+ weeks in the top 10-top 20 it's not a hit, anything else is irrelevant, including #1 debuts. Since vampire passed that mark it's safely a hit though.

This era is underwhelming so far but let's see if there's a g4u or traitor left on the album. We can't write off GUTS just yet.
