Almodusa Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 (edited) A Godzilla spin-off series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, premiered on November 17th on Apple TV+ as an addition to Legendary's MonsterVerse. The show will take place in the aftermath of Legendary's 2014 Godzilla film. This is the second series in the MonsterVerse, following Netflix's animated Skull Island. The show is created by Chris Black and developed by Black and Matt Fraction. The show is scheduled for 10 episodes. "Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters tracks two siblings following in their father's footsteps to uncover their family's connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga – spanning three generations – reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives." Cast: Anna Sawai Kiersey Clemons Wyatt Russell Kurt Russell Josh Collins Ren Watabe Joe Tippett Elisa Lasowski Mari Yamamoto Anders Holm Edited July 9 by Almodusa

Yeah I’m surprised Legendary and Warner Bros. went with Apple, but apparently the latter was enthusiastic about the premise of a Godzilla-related series

Elusive Chanteuse Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 I liked the first two episodes. I'm not a fan of past and present timeline stuff though
Almodusa Posted November 19, 2023 Author Posted November 19, 2023 I really enjoyed these 2 eps Spoiler They really killed them kids in the first episode Episode 3 will be out earlier this week, on Wednesday, because of Thanksgiving
ctlp27 Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 1x01 and 02 Really enjoyed these two. It's visually top tier for TV and I'd be happy if they keep Godzilla and Kong only in flashback memories not in the present (keep it for theaters). Lead actress and actor in modern times are not the best, but they put it in the effort to actually shot in Japan instead of green screen.
TheCal Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Okay these 2 episodes were really good! I'm looking forward for future episodes. The CGI was amazing. I'm a sucker for MonsterVerse, so I'm happy we got a tv show. And the brother is very cute
Almodusa Posted December 1, 2023 Author Posted December 1, 2023 Episode 4 is out Spoiler Glad we got how Kentato and May met Glad they made it out
