WEEKND Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 This is proof that those albums were only charting thanks to the songs in the diamond collection. he knew that.
magazine Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 The "complication" every ATRLer's fave would love to have 2
bad guy Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 “All Post Malone albums depart from the Billboard 200” would have been unthinkable to hear in 2019. 3
ATRL Moderator Element Posted August 16, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted August 16, 2023 His career trajectory is so bizarre like you really couldn’t stop him from dominating back in 2018/19. Idk what happened but the songs got so generic and the support tepid at best. 1 1
Virgos Groove Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 I could understand releasing a compilation if his albums were completely forgotten, but why cannibalize your chart runs when you have multiple projects still charting? It was dumb when Abel did it and it's just as dumb now. 5

Like if you think about it, as long as people listen to The Weeknd at all, that album will prob chart. What if it charts for the next 40 years?

Adding new songs to releases is easier than ever thanks to streaming, so I wouldn't be surprised if artists just keep bloating the same compilation over the years. It's definitely a good idea to release one, but I feel both Post and Abel should've waited a few years to do so. 1
popularmoonlight Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 That's sad. I didn't even know he had released a compilation album, why did no one warn him?

Katamari Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 the tracklisting for this is kind of legendary tho

Leppie Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 Why would anyone release a compilation album now. Like what's the point
Green Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 These compilations are a bad idea in the streaming era
B-Rabbit Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 An Eminem - Curtain Call: The Hits tea. That album is still #45 on Billboard 200

Well yea but 5 tracks from Stoney, 5 from beerbongs & Bentleys, 5 from Hollywoods Bleeding, and 2 from twelve carat toothache are on it. If you took every single from an artists album, I imagine they would perform the same way
