This is exactly how a cover should be done. He honored and preserved the spirit of the original (keeping the female pronouns!) but brought a lot of his own heart and vocal storytelling and added just a touch of country instrumentation without altering the melody. And introduced Tracy to an entirely new audience and got her some serious coin
