Illuminati Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 As long as I play along when my dad pretends he doesn't know I'm gay yes 1 1 1
Alldeezy Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 I didn't till recently. But finally close with my mum sincd she's finally understands my mental health and disability and reason why I never was like a normal child. And I was always close with my dad as a child its why it was very difficult losing him just before my 18th in 2009. I've never been the same person since. But honestly my mum is the only family I have left
getBusy Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 Meh. I love my mom but sometimes she says the most stupid things and nobody can change her mind. If she lived in the US she’d definitely be a MAGA-Karen. 1 3
Odette Violet Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 Yes, I grew up in a traditional Asian household
Taylucifer Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 sure, sometimes they make me wanna kms but i guess we all get along
Hallad173 Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 It’s a bit rocky now, But definitely a much better place. We are in the process of learning each others boundaries again after not speaking for almost a decade. So there are growing pains there but we give each other enough space and grace I think. 1
MidnightsAtPeace Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 as long as they don't know i sleep with men 2
Uncatena Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 (edited) yes, they are very understanding, supportive and caring. i’m very lucky. my dad used to ignore that i was queer but now he proudly talks about it, i’m very proud of him for growing. Edited August 13, 2023 by ChapelHooker
HANZ94 Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 Yes my relationship with them is amazing I actually visit them every weekend (we live in different cities because of work) and what is so crazy is that since I came out I actually became closer to my dad like we used to fight all the time over stupid stuff and now we are closer than ever and my mom has always been there for me
sourprint Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 i get along with both but my dad is extremely annoying
wish Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 Yes, love them. They can be annoying and oldheaded sometimes tho
schnetzka Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 Most of the time. Once my dad finds out I have a boyfriend though, he will definitely flip out.
DamianSolo Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 We get along to the point where our interactions are generally cordial. My mother and I are going to have to eventually have a "Come to Jesus" conversation, though.
White Rabbit Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 Naw. My mom is a narcissist and the emotional abuse really messed me up. Some people really should just not be parents. On the path to recovery though and I believe in chosen family
YellowRibbon Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 I'd say so... Despite growing up in a traditional environment, they were very accepting when I came out to them a few years ago, that entire situation surprised me.
