I think the response made sense back in the day because of the context of the world at the time — but I don’t think Lana was trying to do anything. Same thing with QFTC, I understood her point but I don’t think she realized how tone deaf and arrogant she was sounding.

 

She just needs to stay out of conversations regarding social issues because she clearly doesn’t have the ability to see how privileged she is — for example her whole “when will feminism will look at delicate women like me” thing… Girl, you are literally a rich white woman, do you not hear yourself? 

 

But, yeah. I just think she is not very good at expressing herself outside of lyrics lol

It was silly of her but not that serious. Covid was a scary time though so understandably everyone’s emotions were heightened.

Her and Grimes are basically the same kind of right-wing liberal who can't reconcile their own privilege from growing up as children of professional managerial class parents with their self-imposed artistic anxieties.

 

It's why they're always making vapid, reactionary statements misdiagnosing current events.

 

"The beauty of America is dying!!" and **** like  "Life is pointless!! Let the cyborgs reign!!"= "My parents made six figures while I was growing up and I don't know what to do with myself and my privilege!!"

 

The challenges they faced in the pandemic being mild compared to the actual struggles real people faced (homelessness, lay offs, mass sickness and death) breaking 99%% of their brains ("I need  a mask to buy my Erehwon smoothie!?") outed them all.

Continue to listen to this annoyingly tone deaf psycho, but don’t force others to agree with her dumb past.

I think the mask looked good on her so I don't believe she had any intentional subtle meaning behind the act, it was just simple stupidly.

yall didnt even wear a surgical mask to do grocery runs to begin with (due to the lack of it and the reserve of it for the high risk locations like hospitals back in the days) and have the guts to talk about CDC standards.
