She was ahead of the time by knowing that masks don't do anything of significance

May seem insignificant now, but don't forget what the world was going through at the time

Yes. People were dying.

It was at the time, came across like something those crazy anti mask right wing people would do

Maybe it was a poorly handled statement about the vanity of beauty

Why do white gays stanning Lana have this weird vindictive hunt to rewrite history. :rip:

It was stupid of her to not conform to society norms at the time and will always be considered that.

Just like how her stans try to make it seem like ‘she had a point!!! everyone overreacted! apologize!’ when she posted that idiotic open letter to shame black artists.

Continue to listen to this annoyingly tone deaf psycho, but don’t force others to agree with her dumb past.

She was a bad role model at that time and got dragged accordingly. :cm: Not saying she has to be one but everyone without a mask got dragged back then.

Yes.

It was corny and tryhard, and as a rich millionaire she should know better than to trivialize a pandemic that had killed millions. Her corniness not only put herself and her fans at risk, but spawned so many copycats.

It was extremely stupid of her and immature during a pandemic at the time which had already killed a few million people. She was rightfully dragged

yeah when she doubled down with "there was plastic under the mask" it became clear she really thinks everyone else is really dumb enough to just believe whatever somebody says

Yes, but it was expected of her. It's not like she uses protection in any other department.

Yes, it was stupid, and so were that letter and those "I have rapper friends!" comments.

Lol.

Let's not act like Lana Del Rey was the only artist playing in yalls faces during the pandemic. Plenty of artists didn't "conform to society norms" and continued traveling and living their luxurious lives as normal. :dies: But you draw the line at a poorly executed attempt at worst of trying to have a cute face mask. In hindsight it's really not that big of a deal.

As for QFTC, you're right it was tone deaf. But Lana was just listing popular and trendy artists + Ariana and Camila are not black and race had nothing to do with the post at all if you read it in its entirety. It was poorly worded but more about the harsh criticism Lana gets for her songwriting versus other artists singing about sex, drugs, and volatile relationships. And it's true, Lana has always been judged harshly and through a lens that is impossible or unreasonable, often taking her lyrics and extracting baseless claims about who she is as a person.

The tea is, no one has ever made any allegations about Lana being blatantly racist to anyone or anything. No messy past posts of her making fun of certain people or things or saying certain words unlike some other girls! But you all went to just run with this tired narrative that she's racist over an Instagram post. It's ridiculous. Just shut up, it's these people like you who were never fans of her in the first place and just want to dogpile on her because you don't like her. We don't care how above LDR you think you are. I'm not going to think she's a horrible person over what users on X.com had to say about her during a pandemic at that when everyone was exceedingly more miserable and insufferable. Take it back there please!

? This lengthy word salad only to prove white gays will crawl, bow, and worship this woman’s presence no matter what she does.

Fact remains - she was a pathetic bum trying to play victim like a typical white woman with no morals (actually hilarious you say I’m acting above her while she acted above society standards at the time. Lana stans :lmao:) and got rightfully criticized for it.

But just like a white woman, all she has to do is ‘serve’ and ‘give’ for her moronic fanbase to erase everything. And no - listing 2 white artists doesn’t erase the clear target she had on black women who face entirely worse things inside and out of the industry. Very strange you can’t see this, but I guess if you consider Lana’s music deep and meaningful (:rip:), it’s a hard things to grasp.

Did either one of them ever demonstrate this AMAZING clear plastic mask which surely, if it existed, would be the #1 selling mask in the world, right?

Yes, it was actually controversial for a reason. the whole world was infected at the time and everyone was on the verge of death.

But didn't she wear that mask for a magazine photoshoot and her chemtrails video? not trying to justify her actions but it's not like she was using public transportation while carrying around a contagious disease. I'm pretty sure she only used the mask for promotional/visual purposes.

Also it was confirmed the mask was actually functional and had a layer of plastic.
