Facebook has acquired Giphy years ago and basically killed it, leaving basically every social media that uses their search engine with mid search results (that's why you constantly see the same tired gifs for anything that you type). Basically if we had great gif search platform like (like Google's Tenor) we would see a resurge in gif use but facebook holds monopoly over social media so it's not gonna happen I fear
