Symmetra Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 How did you deal with that dreadful question when you were in school?
magazine Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Oh, I ate the last. Sorry, no more chewing gum. 1
LoveInStereo Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 “Would it matter if I am” which is like saying yes but with none of the confidence or self-esteem lmao 3
Kayseri Mantisi Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I'm actually glad for those questions because they made me question myself and I came to results
Dolce Vita Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 i pretended not to hear them and continued walking with my earphones listening to natalie la rose 2
BOOMBAYAH Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 (edited) I’d sigh and let them ask then say no. Though, there was this one time when I moved to a new school and I made friends with this hot guy (straight) and we were walking home after school and he said “can I ask you a question…” and I was so ready to just get upset and answer the same thing, but he ended up asking me some random guy question about a video game we both played and it really made my day because I was so used to being asked that by that point. Illuminati Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 (edited) During the last two years of high school I would just look them dead in the eye and say "yes, and what about it" and just be really nonchalant and confrontational regardless of what it was they were gonna shame me about Edited August 7, 2023 by Illuminati

State of Grace. Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 It was more like "can I ask you a personal question?" in my case. I didn't really get it that much in HS but I usually said stuff like "would it matter if I am?", "I might be", "do you wanna ask me out?", and "do I have to be a dog to defend animals rights" whenever they find me talking bout queer rights skjdks People either were too dumb to notice or they simply just assumed I was on the spectrum and went with it.
shookspeare Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I have never gotten asked this question, I just got called a f**
KBax Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I got asked once from a friend. She was like "Are you mhmmmm?". I was confused at first and when she just looked at me and smiled. I knew right then what she was asking. I had a girlfriend at the time so when she asked me it kind of threw me off 'cause I had never showed any signs and it was the first time someone ever questioned my sexuality.
CottageHore Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 My face immediately would go beat red and my throat would dry up I swear that question was always so passive aggressive.
DamianSolo Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I'd just lie and say I wasn't. What does it matter if I am or not? That question very rarely comes from a genuine place, especially in school. They didn't need to be all in my business like that. 1
ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted August 7, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted August 7, 2023 A new friend asked me this in 6th grade while we were in the cafeteria and I burst into tears before she even asked the real question. The cafeteria guard/officer person came over (he knew I would get bullied) and asked what was going on and the girl was like, "Idk, he just started crying" and the guard asked me, "Is she bullying you?" I said yes and he took her to the office and she got lunch detention. And best of all, I never had to answer her question! 5
Kylie Verzosa Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Deny nonchalantly. Then secretly wish all their loved ones die in front of them. Homophobia f*cked up my mind gyurlies.
PMKARDASHIAN Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 (edited) Just an exasperated sigh and eye roll followed by a head nod and an affirmative “yes, I am” i finally stopped being asked after an unfortunate Halloween party where half the junior/senior class watched me lose my virginity while I was black out drunk with my at the time best guy friend Edited August 7, 2023 by PMKARDASHIAN
burninredhot Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 (edited) My classmates were too dumb so they never asked Edited August 7, 2023 by burninredhot
every1blinks Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 By observing what I did before they asked the question so I could shut that part of myself down to avoid being asked that again until I slowly became a robot of my former self
