discussion You work 4 days per week and can pick Wed or Fri off. Which one?

Your boss gives you Saturday/Sunday off, but in addition is offering you another day you can take off - would you rather have Wednesday off or Friday off ?

I currently have this work schedule albeit remotely while I’m in rehab. Work Monday - Thursday with Friday - Sun off. It’s great.

Definitely Friday off with 3 day weekend, although I would probably choose Monday instead.

I would do all my admin work (bills/bank/groceries/cleaning etc) on Friday morning-noon and then have all the rest of the weekend to just relax.

 

Plus, it would come in handy to do short 3day vacations somewhere nearby.

I had Fridays off last two years and a three day weekend is great, but I did miss out on a lot of social activities at work. There was this group of young teachers who would get some drinks after work every Friday and I never connected with them the way I really wanted to. I'd pick Monday myself (best of both worlds), but Wednesday would be great too!

Do you ever feel 4 days in a row is too much? I feel like a break in the middle would be nice and you get 2 separate breaks throughout the week - although shorter

Friday for sure: more time for long travels, come back and rest.

Though any of those days would be cute. Like, if you're off on WED, you only work 2 days prior and 2 days after.

Ehhh not really. We have vacation days. The long weekend is good but for me, I’d love a breather every after two days of work. Imagine saying thank god its tuesday because on wednesday you don’t work.

Friday off. The longer break gives you an opportunity to do better things, like a nice trip to a neighbouring country.

4 days of work is too much? We usually work 5 in a row, you know.

Wednesday off. 3 day weekends would still exist with some holidays. Then the week would look like T, Thur, F, or M,T,Thur because usually a Monday or Friday would be the holiday where I work.

I think I’d go with Fridays. But having Wednesdays off in college was great.

Friday. I went part time after my promotion so I’m getting around the same money I was earning when I worked 5 days. Now I work Mon-Wednesday and it’s the best thing I ever done. 3 days in 4 days off.

3 day weekends should be the norm anyway tho, 2 days a week to not be a slave is just not enough (and sundays suck ass)
