Distantconstellation Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Imo Nothing. Same thing that went on when u weren't alive. U don't remember any of that or felt sad, happy, etc, you simply didn't exist. I always wonder why nothing else happening when dead scares people? You just cease to exist like everything else. It's not a big deal, we got one shot at life and that's it. 1
popmusicisdead Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 i'm gonna be roasted in hellfire and brimstone for eternity, i'm afraid.
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Honestly I do think there's a non-physical part that stays behind and lingers around for a while when you die, or maybe our brain machine just shuts down and we just cease to exist, only to become a memory. Who knows. 1 1
Power love Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 It’s wild that ppl think there is a kingdom & some man will be waiting on you there! What kind of game of thrones mess 7 2
Gladiator Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I don't think anything happens. When I was growing up I was a pretty spiritual person. I used to think that souls resided within bodies until the body died and then that soul would go through another life - when it begins another life, it doesn't carry over every experience but things that come natural to someone are residual hobbies and passion that the soul previously had in a past life. It would go through multiple lives until they are fully matured, and then they would reach a state of enlightenment and the energy will be released into the aether. I think it sounds like a pretty good fiction plot now, but when I was younger I came up with this and I am not sure how. It sounds similar to some Indian religions.
ugo Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I think nothing. It still keeps me up at night sometimes. 1
Europe Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 You can read the experiences of people who died briefly and then were brought back to life. They do not experience "nothing" as it is comforting for some people to think so. On the contrary. 1 1
bliaz Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 We woke up in another reality. Dying is nothing more than waking up from a long dream (or nightmare). 3 1
touchofmyhand Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Nothingness. People who believe otherwise are just trying to make themselves feel better about dying in my opinion. 1
Cruel Summer Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I don’t think we can ever know. I think the idea that it’s truly, completely “nothing” is often (not always!) as much a coping mechanism as belief in a religious afterlife - a contrivance to attempt to impart some feeling of certainty on something that will probably never be certain for anyone, because that uncertainty is uncomfortable. I hope by the end of my life I can embrace the unknown and face it - even if it ends up being just like a light switch turning off - without worry. 2

~Start The Music Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 A rush of things then complete nothingness like when you sleep and you don't dream
shookspeare Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I believe in reincarnation, I've felt multiple times in my life like I've been able to come into contact with my past selves or with distant memories 1 1 1 1
Onyxmage Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 (edited) I think we see a light first. Then we are met by our loved ones that have passed on. Then we crossover. Ive heard other things like during the "judgement phase" we are shown our entire life and how we made everyone around us feel and we are made to feel those same feelings (imagine)? Thats why I TRY to at least be nice to most people. I also believe in past lives and multiple lives so I think we do experience heaven for a while but then we are sent back down to live another life but we dont remember anything about our previous life. Kiel D-01 Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Nothing. You just die, I don’t believe in made up afterlife. 1
Bloodflowers. Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Same thing that happens to other living beings that died. They are simply dead. I would love for us to feel alive for eternity in some nice place but that is simply looking from a comforting way to escape anxious reality of simply ceasing to exist!
KatyPrismSpirit Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Nothing will happen when we die. We will just cease to exist.
visions Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 It’ll be the exact same thing as before we were born - nothing.
