Testosterone LOW

Recommended Posts

Posted

I got recent lab results back and my testosterone is really low. I think it’s attributing to my low sex drive, possible ed issues, brain fog, inability to focus and energy being down. I’m super tired all the time and am moody. My depression is out of whack and I feel no motivation. I have a DR appointment to discuss my labs on the 17th but in the meantime I’ll be suffering with this. I’m also using it as an excuse to not do the things I need to to help better myself. I go to the gym 3x weekly but on off days I make no attempt to leave the house unless for errands or grocery shopping. Anyone here deal with low t levels and feeling like this?

I have Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome, and when my pain was at a 10, my day looked like this:

1. Get up after 5 hours of sleep (or any sleep) and shower, pack my lunch, work,

2. Come home, do chores if I had any

3. Then went straight to bed. When you're in chronic and constant pain, it is absolutely awful. Especially when you don't even know where to start in your treatment.

You mentioned you're depressed. Depression tires you out (as with any mental illness, I'm sure).

I'm not surprised you're tired.

Are you on antidepressant medication? That could be a night-and-day difference for you. That combined with therapy helped me regain my confidence and carefreeness in the world.

I take sertraline to 200mg, contrave, lamotrigine 50mg after the initial starting dose & hydroxyzine for anxiety and sleep issues. I’ve been good on taking my medication daily. Been in therapy for a couple months but still finding myself always tired. I have sleep apnea and it’s been a struggle to keep up with it, I’ll be laying down and I have the machine close to me and my energy is down and I just sleep without it.

I’m looking into that and methyl b now but only can take gummies. I had zinc capsules and those fuckers were hard to swallow.

You're aware Zoloft can cause delayed ejaculation? Your dose is pretty high so that's probably a big factor in any sexual dysfunction you may be having. I know there's medications that can be added to help with that or you may want to ask your doctor about an alternative anti-depressant that doesn't usually cause those issues. Wellbutrin is one of them. If you've already tried those, I would definitely still look into zinc because it can absolutely help with testosterone & ejaculatory issues, but everyone is different.

I think the Sertraline/Zoloft might be responsible. That made me very lazy and apparently causes many s#xual dysfunction issues along with motiviation issues. Even getting off of it, the changes might be permanent.

Perhaps you should go get testosterone therapy and switch medications.

It's good you're on medication. Maybe also try holistic stuff too?

Permanent ed issues? I will say my ed issues have happened before I started Zoloft, especially as I was in depression for a long time. I checked some older tests and last year my testosterone was at 279 which I think is still low

I never got my levels tested, but I wouldn't be surprised if mine were low. I was actually taking a testosterone supplement about a year, or so, ago; I just tried it on a whim and I did feel noticeably better. I'm generally always upbeat with a great and positive attitude, but it definitely gave me an extra boost. I, for sure, had a lot more energy. Turned me into a little bit of a jackrabbit, though.

I might get back on it. I'm naturally a little tired right now since I've been up for about 18 hours, but I could definitely do with feeling that boost again.

Can you take that just like that or is it necessary to see a doctor first ?
I’ve been thinking about taking that lately since they say it’s useful for muscle mass

Those are all symptoms of low testosterone. Did you get a proper testosterone blood test? You can actually schedule those without a doctor, though if you seek help, that doctor would want their own testing done and getting blood drawn is not a fun experience or one that I would recommend getting done two times for the same purpose in such a small time frame. Seek testosterone replacement therapy.
